Second Sunday of Advent...

Week Two: December 10 – 16

Advent Theme: Promise For Abraham, the sand and the stars were signs of God’s special blessing (Gen 22:17).

For Moses, God spoke in a fiery bush that was not consumed. These simple physical gestures reminded God’s servants that he was with them and that he remembered his promises to his people. On this second Sunday of Advent, we light a candle to remember the promise of God to call a people to himself. The Apostle Paul writes, “in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself.” For us then, not simply in the stars or a miraculous fiery apparition, god confirms his intention toward us by sending his Son among us, to live with and die for us. In Jesus, the Father fulfills his promise and invites us to live not as slaves of the world but as sons and daughters of the Most High, brothers and sisters of our Savior.

Peace and Hugs!!

Wishing you blessings in the week ahead!
The SON is shining!

  1. I love this Advent post. Thank you, Terri. God's promise for us and for His chosen people, Israel. I pray for Israel every day, that they will realize that Jesus is The Messiah, and that He has come to set His people free. Praying for the peace of Israel and all of Christendom.
