Check out the dress and decide which shoes you like best for her outfit.
It is all for fun and just a whimsical thing!
The photos are from The Storybook of Dreams and Beauty!
Today is LEAP DAY, but St. Patrick's Day is coming and so is Easter! She could be set for both with this dress!! She just needs some shoes. Count down 1-2-3 and tell us which ones she should wear!
My thoughts: I love the green and could wear this dress IF it came in my size. As for the shoes, I will go with #3 and hope they are flats!! What do you think?
1. February is coming to a close. Give us a two-word phrase that tells us something about how yours went. Pretty fast!
2. If you had to describe how you're feeling right now as an amusement park ride, what ride are you on? Explain. Probably an antique merry-go-round with vintage horses and a gentle breeze... but still just going in a circle.
3. What's something on your desk or a nearby wall that cheers you up when you see it or walk past? This painting that was a birthday gift still cheers me up from across the room.
4. Are you a salad eater? Yes, I like salads. How many salads do you typically eat in a week? Sometimes none and sometimes one or two. Your favorite kind of salad? A variety of greens and lots of other good veggies, tomatoes, plus some croutons and cheese and a protein like chicken or salmon.
5. Without telling us the category give us your top five ______. Ragdoll, Maine Coon, Tabby, Tiger, Tuxedo... (or just a stray from the neighborhood or SPCA).
6. Insert your own random thought here. I wrote about dinner at my house with my boss, his wife, and our friend Monika. Danon and Mali have four cats. We were lamenting about finicky eaters and decided to swap some cans of cat food. We traded six cans. Mine liked theirs, but one of theirs turned her nose up at mine (though the others ate it). Silly cats. I know if we just wait a week or so, they will most likely eat the one they didn't like last week. Silly cats.
Peace and Hugs!
All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now

The Music of Home
Hello again! You are very welcome here at Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
From the play Greenwillow comes the song The Music of Home:
Tis the music of home
The music of home
Full of wonder as angel song
All the music of home
Thе music of home
Singing, "Home is wherе I
Belong"
There is a music to home.. let's talk about the music in your home.
1. Was home always your safe place? Yes. Or did it leave a lot to be desired? What would improve the music in your home today? I was blessed to have a great family growing up. I had a pretty bad first marriage, then an amazing life with my best friend and husband of almost 36 years. The "music" in our home was calming, fun, and loving. That timbre remains, praise God.
2. Do you like coming home at the end of a day? Absolutely How about when you were a kid? Home was always a safe haven full of life and love.
3. What is the music of your home? I answered that in #1. How would you describe life in your home growing up... in the middle of your life and right now? Again, see #1. Is there a song that might fit your home? Anything but filthy rap, heavy metal, or opera...
4. Like a symphony, home has it's ups and downs as the picture to the side illustrates. What are your home's best ups and worst downs? (Stories of happy times, busted water heaters, goofy things that have happened, etc.) Ups are location, good friends, and easy care. Worst has been my leaky carport roof, which seems to finally be repaired. Goofy... the opossum that was injured on the road behind my house and made his way under my home to die. His presence was quite noticeable for three days or so. I couldn't afford the $600 that was quoted to remove it for me. It's fine. His ghost hasn't bothered us.
PS... these questions seem a bit strange to me and perhaps I just didn't get them as they were intended.
On Friday, I had a nice visit and lunch with my friend, Shirley. We were going to meet at Cheddar's for lunch, but she called to see if I could come to her house and she would order pizza instead. Her toilet was backed up and she had Roto Rooter coming and needed to stay home. So we had a nice visit and some good pizza. Her backup was cleared and life was good again. She is such a sweetheart and is 87 years young.
I got up Saturday morning and started cleaning my neglected house. Having company coming is good motivation to clean! LOL My boss and his wife and our friend Monika came around 5:00 for dinner and a board game they all enjoy. I had fun too. I made a rice, chicken, and veggie casserole that always seems to be a hit. Strawberry shortcake was for dessert. It was a nice evening. I am so blessed with these friends from work.
I was a greeter yesterday, at church. We are almost done with Genesis in Sunday school. Not sure where we will go after that. Our teacher, Lew, is battling cancer and has some other health issues. I've known him and knew his late wife, from 1997. She and I worked together at the Museum. She died a bunch of years ago from cancer.
My son, Joe, is coming this weekend and I hope Darlene can make it too. Not sure if it will be Friday or Saturday. They are five hours away, up in Georgia. I'll keep y'all posted!!
Next weekend, my nephew Lou, his wife, two of their three daughters, and my penpal and great-great niece Maya are all coming for a visit!! My house will be full. They got me a ticket to go with them for a spring training game over in Clearwater. Phillies fans!! It will be fun and I will have photos, for sure!!
Thanks to our hostess, Bev, for today's thievery! You can join in HERE!
Sunday Stealing
Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and was published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. Cheers to all of us thieves.
1. Have you ever smoked cigarettes? Yes, between husbands. I smoked for about two years. I quit in 1983 because Joe was not a smoker and he had asthma. I quit cold turkey.
2. What do you think of hot dogs? I like a hotdog now and then. Nathan's is preferred.
3. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Coffee!!
4. What's your favorite piece of jewelry that you own? I have a few pieces that are meaningful. Two pendants were made from my grandma's wedding ring and another from my parents' rings. My wedding rings (mine and Joe's) that live in my jewelry box right now.
5. Name 3 drinks you regularly drink? Coffee, Iced Tea, Spring Water
6. Like to travel? Yes.
7. What should you be doing right now? Exactly what I am doing!!
8, Your phone rings. Who do you want it to be? Anyone except a spammer!
9. Do you like to ride horses? Yes! I wish I was more accomplished, though!
10. In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener? That depends whether I know the people or they are new acquaintances.
11. What's in your pocket right now? Not a thing!
12. Last thing that made you laugh? A video posted on FB of babies laughing! How can you not laugh with them? Best sound!
13. How many TVs do you have in your house? Three.
14. Who's your loudest friend? Anne.
15. Favorite sports team? (If you don't have one, just state that ...) I still say I'm a Flyers/Eagles/Phillies fan by marriage. I don't watch anymore without Joe. It's not
nearly as much fun without him.
Peace and Hugs!
O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer, Greatest treasure of my longing soul, My God, like You there is no other; True delight is found in You alone.

Shambala
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!
Saturday 9: Shambala (1973)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here. 1) This week's song refers to the mythical kingdom of Shambala. Can you think of another song that mentions a faraway, mythical land? Camelot!
2) "Shambala" is performed by Three Dog Night. The name is derived from an Aboriginal Australian legend. In the outback, hunters would sleep with a dog beside them. If it was very cold, they would sleep between two dogs. If it was freezing -- you guessed it -- it was a three-dog night. Was it cold last night where you are? LOL... yes, cold for central Florida! Low 50s.
3) The lead singer is the late Cory Wells. Early in his career, he was a member of the house band at the famous Sunset Strip nightclub Whiskey-A-Go-Go. Cory was a bit of an anomaly at "The Whiskey" because of his sober lifestyle. When did you most recently enjoy an adult beverage? I'm not much of a drinker. It has been over a month since I enjoyed a glass of wine. I do like a Margarita or a Mule now and then but they are expensive!
4) Bandmate Danny Hutton auditioned to be a member of The Monkees TV show. He didn't get the part. While he was a talented singer-songwriter, NBC was looking for musicians who could also act. Have you ever fantasized about a career as a performer? Absolutely not. I am a backstage, behind-the-curtain kind of girl.
5) Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys was an early supporter of Three Dog Night's. What's your favorite Beach Boys song? I can't name a favorite but there are many I like... Barbara Ann, California Dreamin', Good Vibrations...
6) In 1973, when this song was popular, one of the best-selling toys Curious George plush doll packaged with a Curious George book. Can you recall a favorite book from your childhood? Mary Poppins, and Darby O'Gill and the Little People were two of my favorites.
7) The Exorcist was in theaters, terrifying audiences. It's still ranked among the scariest movies of all time. Have you seen it? Did it scare you? I have seen it a few times and it is very scary, but scary movies don't scare me because I know they aren't real (though I might squeal or jump out of my seat!). Scary, yes, but not real so don't lose any sleep over it! Applaud the art, instead! (I don't do bloody massacre movies. The psychological ones (Alfred Hitchcock-type) movies are an art.)
8) Roller skates were a big seller in 1973. While most rinks had skates available for rent, committed skaters had their own pair. Are you better on roller skates or ice skates? I am much better on ice skates!! Two blades are easier than eight wheels for me! I loved skating rinks and skating parties back in the day (mid-late 60s), but I lived on the edge of Buckeye Lake and we were out on the ice in the winter every Saturday, sometimes for nearly the entire day! I did not have my own roller skates but did have my own ice skates!
9) Random question -- Here's $100. What will you spend it on? I have company coming the next two weekends so I'm sure it would go to Publix!
Happy Friday!! Another week has flown by. I do have some new photos to share this week!!
Our FWC Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network staff manned the FWC booth at the Florida State Fair (in Tampa) over the last two weeks. Monday was the last day. When I walked into one of the offices, on Tuesday, this was looking at me...
It does take you by surprise!! It did me, anyway. They had many wildlife props in the booth, live snakes, an alligator, and a tortoise. The tortoise is our Education Director's pet. He lives on her enclosed porch and is quite comfortable there, she said. He also gets supervised time in their backyard. Titan is an African Spurred Tortoise, and he weighs nearly 50 pounds. He is gentle, not aggressive, and was an interesting specimen. I didn't pick him up, but I did pet him under his chin.
I hadn't been back to the intersection where the Southside Cleaners is until earlier this week. I snapped this photo of the sign...
I'm having my boss, Danon, and his wife, Mali, to dinner tomorrow evening. Monika is also coming. She is one of our volunteers at Tenoroc. She represents Florida Trails and mows our hiking trails every week (more than 20 miles total!). She has become a good friend. It will be a fun evening. I am meeting my friend Shirley for lunch after work today and then I will go to Fancy Farms for strawberries. The dessert tomorrow will be strawberry shortcake.
Check out the dress and choose the shoes you like best.
It is all for fun and just a whimsical thing.
Photos are from The Storybook of Dreams and Beauty.
A lovely dress for the mother of the bride or groom, perhaps. I have never had the figure for something like this, but it is lovely. Count down on the shoes, 1-2-3, and tell us which ones you like best.
My thoughts: I do like the dress and would wear it if it wasn't so form-fitting. LOL! As for the shoes, I am picking #1 because the heel is the most sensible. I do think 2 and 3 are both pretty. What are your thoughts?
Thanks to Joyce, our hostess, for this week's Hodgepodge! You can join in HERE!
Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 539
1. What kind of thinker are you-doer (concrete thinking) analyst (analytical and abstract thinking), orator (logical thinking) inventor (imaginative thinking) or original thinker (creative)? What makes you say so? You can try this little quiz(link here)to help with your answer.
I'm not sure about the answers, but that was my result. My thought on the question, before I took the survey, was that I was a combination of them all and this result sort of shows that, doesn't it.
2. Do you own a crock pot, air fryer, and/or instapot? Do you leave said small appliance sitting out? How often do you use it/them? Favorite thing to make in one of these? I gave my sister my Instapot because I didn't use it more than once or twice. I use my crock pot often. It lives in the pantry until I need it. I do have a small air fryer and it does sit on the counter. I use the air fryer a few times a week and the crock a few times a month. I love making soups in the crock pot and anything frozen with breading works well in the air fryer, as well as French fries.
3. What's something you hold a strong opinion on that matters not at all in the grand scheme of things? Since I truly believe God is in control, none of my opinions matter much at all, except that I do believe God is in control.
4. Describe the view from your window. I don't have much of a view from any window because our homes are placed fairly close together (10 feet apart), but sitting in my recliner with the front door open, I can see beautiful sunsets over the rooftops down the street.
5. Do you have a favorite brand? Explain. I'm not really into brands but the first thing I thought of was Sketchers shoes. I have a big foot and it is not easy to find shoes that look nice. Sketchers work for me. I also like Birkenstocks.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I'm still purging and trying to reorganize my office/den/junk room/back room... whatever it should be called. I'm taking two huge bags of clothing and stuff to the Children's Home. They take anything and repurpose it or sell it. I have a huge box of shredding that I will take to the UPS store for shredding. It's too much for me to do. I have company coming the next three weekends so will put it on hold for awhile. Not going to worry about it. Small steps will get me there eventually.

First Things First...
First High Heels by Amos Sewell
Hello! It's a new week and another installment of Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4. I debated over the word episode and ended up with installment but I am still not satisfied. Oh well, here it is whatever it is and I do hope you enjoy joining in.
Let's talk about firsts in your life.
1. Do you remember your first pair of grown-up style shoes, maybe high heels? How did that go? Mom let me get a pair of heels for Easter when I was in 7th grade. They were white patent leather and the heel was two inches!! I had to practice walking in them. I was only allowed to wear them (and hose) for church on Sunday.
2. When was your first date and do you recall their name and where you went and what you did? I am from a VERY small town in central Ohio. My sophomore year, I had a steady boyfriend (Archie). We couldn't drive yet so we only went to school functions. I lived a block from the school and he lived down the street from my house so we could easily walk to the school. I have no memory of where we went first. Probably a homecoming dance. We were both in the marching band. He played drums (I played trumpet).
3. Do you have any memories of your first job? I babysat twins the summer I was 13 years old. They were 11. I was paid $18.00 a week. I fed them breakfast, got to eat lunch with them, and also had to do some house cleaning. My first more responsible job was at the ice cream parlor when I was 16.
4. What do you remember about your first home away from Mom and Dad? I got married (the 1st time) 7 months after I graduated from high school so it was a very, very tiny one-bedroom apartment in Columbus, Ohio. We were both in school and working part-time.
The above photo was taken Friday morning before the rains came. I always stop for my mail in the morning, on my way to work. The Ibis didn't even care when I got out of the car to walk to my mailbox. Must have been some good stuff in the ground there!
So rain, rain, and more rain. We need it, but it is cold (for us) as well and makes us Floridians miserable. Glad it isn't snow and that cold (for us) is mid-40s, but my heat is on and I only went out to church yesterday.
Sunday school and church were all about the mission work my church supports. We had many of our local groups represented and also a mission we support in Haiti came to tell us how they are succeeding in their ministries. We had a potluck lunch afterward. Our potlucks are always fun and delicious! We usually have tables outside but we were inside, out of the rain! It was still enjoyable!
I did my laundry and on both Saturday and Sunday continued working on my purging and organizing projects. Little steps, but getting it done. I spoke with both of my sisters, with grandson Tristan, my BFF Elaine, and my son Joey. It is always good to connect and hear my loved ones' voices!
I've been watching (third time) Lark Rise to Candleford on BritBox. It is such a sweet series, reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie. Laura's Pa just asked her why she is always writing in her journal. Her reply was "It all goes by so fast, and this life deserves to be remembered." It struck me that that is exactly why many of us, myself included, enjoy blogging.

Paper Doll
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here are today's questions!
Saturday 9: Paper Doll (1943)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here. 1) The song is about a fellow who is exasperated by men flirting with his girl. Do you have a jealous streak? I think I have grown out of any jealousy I may have had when younger. I have never really had reason to be jealous, at least in the past 40 years or so. Blessings surround me!
2) He's blue after a quarrel with Sue. Did you exchange harsh words with anyone recently? No. It's been a long time since I spoke harsh words with anyone.
3) "Paper Doll" was #1 for 12 weeks in 1943-44, sold 11 million copies, and remains one of the best-selling singles of all time. Have you heard it before today? I have heard it often, actually, because I often listen to the 40s station on SiriusXM. I love that genre of music... big bands and performers who sing words you can understand!!
4) As kids, the Mills Brothers worked on their harmonies in front of their father's Piqua, OH, barbershop, much to the delight of passers-by. Do you often encounter street musicians in your neighborhood? The last time was at our Farmer's Market on a Saturday morning. A man was playing guitar and singing and had his hat ready for donations.
5) The Mills Brothers were a long way from that street corner when, in 1936, they became the first African Americans to perform for the British Royal Family. It's about 4,000 miles from Piqua to London. What's the farthest you've ever been from home? We went to Italy back in 2007.
6) In the early 1930s, the Mills Brothers not only performed songs on radio, they sang jingles for Standard Oil and Crisco. What commercial can you recall having seen (or heard) lately? I watched several during the first half of the Super Bowl but I can't say I remember any of them. I don't watch live TV often, anymore, so rarely have to watch a commercial.
7) In 1943, when "Paper Doll" was popular, WWII was raging and the US Mint began producing steel pennies because copper was needed for ammunition. Do you have any pennies in your pocket or wallet right now? Without getting up to go look, I would guess there might be two or three pennies.
8) Also in 1943, a bottle of Coke was a nickel. When did you most recently have a soft drink? What was it? I keep Diet Coke in my fridge for guests and drink one a couple of times a month, probably. I don't care very much for carbonated beverages and rarely finish one. I prefer water or iced tea.
9) Random question: Have you learned more from your successes or your failures? I hope I have learned from both!!
Peace and Hugs!
I love to tell the story of unseen things above
Of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and His love
I love to tell the story, because I know 'tis true
It satisfies my longings as nothing else can do.
PS: Thank you to all who wrote sweet comments on my blog yesterday. My heart is full. I am blessed, indeed, by your friendships. Thank you.
I am just giving the day over to remember my sweet Joe. He died three years ago this afternoon. I stopped at the cemetery earlier this week and stayed a bit with a prayer and reflection. This blog is my journal, so you can pass by and just forgive my reminiscing. I don't mean this to be sad at all. Joe was so fun, and all of the memories are full of love and good times! I miss him something awful but my heart is full. A life well lived and remembered. No names or places noted. Just memories.
