I have a few photos from Christmas to share. I didn't take many but want to document the holiday with a few.
Tammy (my youngest sister) went to church with me Sunday morning and we returned for the Christmas Eve candlelight service. It was beautiful and this picture doesn't do it justice. We sang lots of Christmas hymns which is always fun and meaningful.
Left to right: Bill, Dee, Duane, Marlene, Anne, Paul, Cheryl, and Tammy
I made deviled eggs and had them ready to move to my pretty glass deviled egg dish. I intended to add some red and green sugar sprinkles. If you saw this on Facebook, you know what comes next. I completely forgot the eggs. Tammy and I had them for breakfast the next two days, plus ate them with the other leftovers for dinner!
Casper and Vinny have started sitting on me like this while I watch TV in the evenings. Silly babies.
I will be off for New Year's Day and for Tuesday, the 2nd, so it will be a nice four-day weekend for me. On Saturday, I am meeting my grandkids, Lauren and Tristan, down in Punta Gorda. Looking forward to it!! I will work two 8-hour days during the next pay period to make up for my two days off. I'm a greeter at church on Sunday, and the neighbors (Duane and Marlene) have invited me and another neighbor, Deborah, for New Year's Eve, with an early good night and happy new year. None of us want to stay up late. LOL
Thanks for stopping by!!
In Christ alone, my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm…

I am glad you started putting the hymns back on your post! It challenges me to either remember them or look them up! I knew this one, but still had to look it up to get the rest of the verse correct. I do love that song.
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas with your neighbors and friends and Tammy! And I am sure they never missed the deviled eggs with all that other good food, so it's good you and Tammy had them to enjoy. They do make good egg salad...I've done that before with leftovers. I am so happy for you to be having Cheryl and her hubby staying with you. I know it will be a blessing for all of you. Oh, and you get to go see your grandkids tomorrow too! What a wonderful treat for them AND you! Enjoy your special time away...and enjoy your New Year's Eve with friends. Take care and have a blessed holiday weekend.
It sounds like you have had a really good week. I'm so happy you had a good time with your sister and now you are going to see your grands. Hope you have a blast on New Year's Eve. We'll be in bed early that night too probably.
ReplyDeleteI'm so appreciative of the relationship you've built at work -- both with your boss and flexible work schedule! It sounds like that part-time job was designed just for you!
ReplyDeleteThis was the first year I/we never attended Christmas Eve candlelight services; they're always so meaningful. Tom's mobility isn't so great and neither is my night vision.
Yes, I had to chuckle at the deviled eggs. I love them (to distraction), but have never tried creating them myself. Think: Hot Mess! When I ever get down there again, won't you please show me?
Happy almost New Year! xo
I will!! Just remind me, Myra!!
DeleteWhat a great time y'all had! That's wonderful. Good photos too. Sorry you have to work today. I hope it's an easy day. It's pretty here but VERY cold. Brrr. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Years! xx
Forget the deviled eggs??? Oh, well, at least Tammy and you enjoyed them! I do hope you have a blessed New Year, Terri.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture and sounds like you are well loved. Enjoy. I too will be asleep at midnight. I just celebrate with other time zones:)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Terri: It looks like you are going to have a wonderful time with your visitors, I love singing the Christmas carols at Church even the people like me with a terrible singing voice sing.
ReplyDeleteI hope your birthday dinner was great.
I love deviled eggs, so yummy.
Catherine
Lovely pictures and it looks as though your holiday was very nice.
ReplyDeleteI bet the eggs were good though lol. I had friends over for breakfast recently and made really pretty little individual fruit salads ahead of time and of course after they left I saw them sitting in the frig. I hate when I do that. Happy new year! Enjoy time with your grandchildren!
