Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 360
....I have been writing Hodgepodge questions for close to nine years now, and have decided to call it a wrap. I'll have more to say about that tomorrow, but for now, keep calm and Hodgepodge on.
1. What has been the highlight of your summer so far? (It's still summer people!)
It is always summer in Florida, but we had the best time when family came down for two weeks and we all spent a long weekend at the beach!

More time at the beach and less time recovering from maladies... either mine or Joe's.

Nothing in particular. My six weeks of healing time will be over on the 18th, so there is that!

I've read some not-so-great books this past couple of months. Nothing to recommend, I'm afraid.

It is hard to think about the demise of the Hodgepodge but on a positive note... THANK YOU, Joyce, for nine years of commitment to this weekly meme. It has been fun and I know that I look forward to reading about that little guy growing up (too fast), about the coming wedding, and all the fun you and "hubs" have in your lovely home on that lovely lake. It's not good-bye.

Joe and I were out and about yesterday. He had to deliver some tax work to a client and then we dropped in on my friend Shirley. Yesterday was her 82nd birthday. We took her cupcakes and a card. She had homemade banana bread and iced tea to share with us. We sat and talked for an hour or so. It was a very pleasant visit!
Today is Joe's birthday!! Nothing special planned other than going out to dinner!

It's a great month for a birthday : ) Happy birthday to your hubs! I'm so glad to have connected with you through our blogs, and know we'll continue to stay in touch this way, and thru FB too. And maybe in person one of these days! Hope you're feeling better every day!

Props for actually finishing those 'not-so-great' books, Terri. If something doesn't pique my interest by page 50, I'm inclined to call it a day and move on. Happy Birthday blessings to your handsome Italian stallion! :)
ReplyDeleteMyra, they were good enough to keep my interest but just have not been great. I download FREE books whenever I see one that looks like it might interest me. Sometimes (most of the time) you get what you pay for. I read purely for entertainment and don't care for biographies/autobiographies or books that are supposed to teach me something (HA HA). Purely entertainment, so I go for mysteries and detective stories. I don't care for mushy love stories and (though I have tried) Christian fiction is too predictable. So there, I've said it.

Happy Birthday to Joe and to your friend Shirley. How nice to spend some special time with her. I know she enjoyed it. Sorry to see the hodgepodge end, but I never did get myself into it. I just enjoyed reading everyone else's answers. Glad you are feeling better and hope that September will be a healthy and happy month for both of you! Fall is coming, although I know it isn't really like fall up north, but we can pretend. Enjoy!!

ReplyDeleteGreetings from the Granite State. SWMBO and I were able to go to the beach a couple of weeks ago. It was nice to bask in the sun, wade into the ocean and score some fried dough. It was a great day. Today we went on a whale watch. Another great day. So I get it when you refer to spending time doing other things besides recovering from one malady or another.
