November 7th: Friday Focus...

I've had a fairly busy week, but I am happy there is nothing on my calendar for today, other than walking with my neighbor, Sandy, this morning.  Susan is away today, so the two of us are on our own.  I missed Monday and Tuesday with them, but we did walk on Wednesday and Thursday.  My goal is at least three days a week, so I made it today!!

On Wednesday, I spent a good part of the day running errands.  One of them was to get three rotisserie chickens at Sam's Club.  I pull the meat off the bones and freeze half of each chicken for casseroles and soups.  I'm using one of the bags in my casserole for our potluck at church on Sunday.  The rotisserie chicken at Sam's is SO GOOD.  They are big, moist, well-seasoned, and are only $4.98 each.  I get around five cups of pulled chicken from each one.  Not a bad investment these days!

I also had to go to Home Depot for the paint and supplies needed to get my driveway painted.  Donnie (who lives here in Mas Verde with his lovely wife) came yesterday to pressure wash.  I had already moved everything from the carport because Grime Gobblers came to pressure wash the house yesterday, as well.  Getting spruced up after our hot and humid summer.

Yesterday I went to Bible study at my church.  I had a visit from a long-time friend I hadn't seen since Easter.  I invited them for Thanksgiving and hope they can make it.  They spend a lot of time going back and forth to Pennsylvania for family business, caring for elderly relatives.

Last night, the Mas Verde dinner group went to Reececliff for dinner.  There were only five of us.  Reececliff isn't my favorite place, but dining with friends is the best part of the evening.

Tomorrow, I will be taking Anne and Paul to Moffitt, where they will stay until Wednesday, when I will go to pick them up.  I'll be parking my car at their house while my driveway paint dries and cures.  Donnie said to not walk on it for three days and to not drive on it for six or seven days.

I've mentioned that my neighbors, Dee and Bill, have the cutest little dog named Princess Leah.  Dee brought her out so we could see her all dressed up.  Susan and Sandy both took pictures and shared this one with me...

That was my week.  How was yours?
Wishing you all a good weekend!
Happy Friday!

Peace and Hugs!

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure;
Cleanse me from its guilt and power.

  1. I love Rock of Ages! Thank you for sharing these old hymns with us. You know I enjoy them! Sounds like you've had a busy week, but also a productive one. Those chickens sound so good. We don't have a Sam's Club or Cosco near enough to us to make use of it so I can't get those good deals. Our store rotisserie chicken is about 8.99 or something like that, and sometimes they aren't as plump and juicy as I'd like them to be. Publix is better, but it's farther to go for us. Have a safe trip to Tampa and back. You are a wonderful neighbor!!!

  3. How adorable is Princess Leah! Ya, we've a nearby eatery that everyone seems to love -- except me. Nothing's really wrong, it just doesn't ring my chimes. You're right -- one's company makes all the difference.

    PS - Your new background is wonderful!

  4. Gosh what a full life you have! That's wonderful. If I ever get bored I'm moving to your neighborhood. Right now having over 6 acres is keeping me on my toes.
    Princess Leah is so cute! My dogs won't wear clothes. They would totally rebel. ❤️

  8. I remember singing Rock of Ages when I was growing up! Way to go on the three days of walking!!! Costco chicken is like Sam's - reasonably priced and delicious!! We don't paint driveways here. Are you painting it a color? or sealing it?
