November 11th: The Tuesday 4... (and a little more)

Thanks to Annie for today's Tuesday 4!  You can join in by clicking HERE!

November Musings

It's time again for Tuesday 4, held in memory of Toni Taddeo, its founder and previous host.   Thank you so much for joining in and helping to keep this alive. It is much appreciated.

It's Autumn and temperatures in many places will be going down, days will be shorter, and leaves will be tumbling down.

1. What kind of weather and temperatures make you feel most comfortable, most healthy?  Winters here in Florida are the best!!  Highs in the low 80s and no humidity!

2.  Do you like the colors associated with Autumn?  Clothing-wise wise do they look good on you?  Warm colors are always nice, but I prefer deeper gem-tones.

3. Would you rather:…

  •   … get lost in a corn maze or go on a hayride? hayride
  • … visit an apple orchard or a pumpkin patch?  orchard
  •  … eat a caramel apple or a candy apple?  caramel
  •  … have some cinnamon buns or Pumpkin muffins? cinnamon
4. There are 7,500 varieties of apples.  What is your favorite, and do you regularly eat apples?   What fruits do you keep on hand?  My favorite apple is Cortland, but I can't get them here in Florida.  I buy Granny Smiths most often, but I confess to not eating apples very often.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

My refrigerator can be fixed for more than I hoped, but still less than it could have been.  The part has been ordered, and the repair is scheduled for next Monday.  It is working, and he showed me a trick to use if it starts warming again.  It is about 16 years old, and he said it is one of "the best" Kenmore refrigerators.  Like a Timex, it should keep on ticking!

Here are the "after" photos of my driveway.  "Before" pictures were posted yesterday.

My back door...

My front door 'stoop' with confetti sprinkles...

I like how it looks so much cleaner now!

I also want to mention that I just learned that my old friend, Cindee, passed away last month.  Her memorial service will be on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  My long-time followers will recognize her name.  We worked together at the Museum, and six of us got together for lunch every month.  I still lunch with Shirley each month.  Melody died, Terry moved to Georgia, Heather moved to Virginia, and Cindee and her husband moved down to Palmetto to be closer to their kids.  She battled Parkinson's Disease for over 10 years.  Her daughter called to let me know.  I'm just documenting it here because this is my 'journal' and life events are all posted here.  This photo is from 2014, one of the last times we were all together.  Cindee is in the pink sweater.

Peace and Hugs!

Proverbs 27:9 Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.

Wow! I did not know there is 7500 varieties of apple! You learn something new everyday.
I am glad your refrigerator is fixable and that is good you have a short term fix if it warms again.

  10. The driveway looks so nice. I know you are going to love the new look. Isn't it funny how the oldest things are the best. My daughter's washing machine broke recently. She let her dad go shopping at the stores with old ones that had been refurbished. She has an old Kenmore with an agitator and loving it. I am jealous:)
Oh to watch our friends pass away. Not too much fun.

  11. First, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. It is awesome to work with people you enjoy spending time with. Second, it always amazing me how the older appliances were built to last and today's appliances not so much. Your driveway looks beautiful! Do you have to have it repainted every year or does it last for several years?
