November 25th: The Tuesday 4...

Thanks to Annie for today's questions!  You can join the fun HERE!

We Gather Together..

Welcome, welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

This coming Thursday is Thanksgiving Day, when we gather together to ask the Lord's blessing, as the song says.  What are your Thanksgiving Days like?

1. Do you celebrate with family, friends, or by yourself?  Lots of dear friends this year.  It's been a long time since the family came down for Thanksgiving.

2.  Do you watch the Thanksgiving Day parade from Macy's in New York City?  The appearance of Santa at the end signals the start of the Christmas season.  What does the day hold for you?  Yes, I watch the parade (or at least listen to it). The day holds good food, fun with friends, and lots of memories remembered and new ones made.  I have so much to be thankful for in my life, and I know how blessed I am every day.

3. What foods are the hit of Thanksgiving Day for you?  All of the traditional foods!  Turkey, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, deviled eggs, pickles, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, rolls...

4.  We say grace before and after meals. Is grace a part of your Thanksgiving meal?  Definitely.

Peace and Hugs!

For the beauty of the earth
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies.
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise.

  3. I always look forward to corn casserole that my brother makes--he uses our grandmother's recipe! I am so excited to see all of my family that can come!

  5. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. It is not turning out as I had hoped. Josh is sick, so I am not sure if I will be able to go get my mom and bring her to our house. I have been sick too and not quite over it. I just haven't seen my mom in what feels like forever, but I do not want her to get sick. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

  6. Wow, I was not familiar with some of the dishes you have in your Thanksgiving meal. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
Here in Canada, we celebrated our Thanksgiving in October. Our typical Thanksgiving and Christmas 🎄 dinner usually consists of the following...turkey or ham, mashed potatoes, mashed turnips and carrots together, cranberry sauce, stuffing. For dessert it could be apple pie, Christmas log for the Christmas dinner.

  7. Oh, and I forgot to add gravy, which is always served with the turkey.

  8. Wishing you the best Thanksgiving with friends. Lots of cooking will be going on here too and praying we will all be well…sickness has traveled around.

  10. Friends can feel like family, too! (But I know what you mean.) It's been a long time since we watched/listened to the Parade, but I may make it a point in honor of my mother.
