Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 564
2. When you have a trip coming up do you make a list and check it twice to ensure you don't forget anything? Or are you a 'throw whatever you can think of into the suitcase at the last minute' kind of packer? When returning from a trip do you unpack immediately or leave the suitcase right where it lands? I don't write a list but I do have a mental list of what to pack. I don't wait until the last minute. Can't do that!! When I get home, I unpack and sometimes even start a load of laundry.
3. What's your favorite food or beverage made with lemons? I can drink lemonade but it's not a favorite. Is that a flavor you enjoy? I do not care for lemon-flavored anything but I will be polite if it is served to me.
4. When was the last time you had to make lemonade out of lemons, figuratively speaking I mean? You know what, I can't remember. I think I just keep on keepin' on and don't give it a thought. God has been so good to me. Even those lemons are a blessing when sprinkled with the gospel and some sugar!
5. Did you like school growing up? Why or why not? I loved school from kindergarten through my senior year. Friends, fun, art classes, music, I loved biology and English. I was on the yearbook staff, ran track... I think you make it fun by being involved and interested. I'm from a very small town and there were only 47 in my senior class, so it was a different experience from many. Blessed.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I had to get new tires on my car yesterday. They filled them with nitrogen instead of air. I had never heard of that before but it seems to be the new thing. It is good for the tires since it doesn't expand when it heats up like air does. A friend recommended the company to me and they were really great. While I was waiting, a man came in and looked at me and said I know you from somewhere. I said, Redeemer? And he said YES! He and his wife went to my church the first year or so we were there. They went on to help with a church plant so it had been a while since I saw them. That was fun... small world.

That's so interesting about the tires. I've not heard of that. When you need to add air, what do you do?
ReplyDeleteBob needs new tires this fall. I wonder if we'll find nitrogen tires here too!
I asked that same question. They told me you can add air in an emergency but you should go have them changed over as soon as you can. I wonder if the AAA guys carry it on their trucks now? I'll have to ask that question if I'm stuck on the road.
DeleteI've never heard of nitrogen in a tire. I need new tires so will find out about that I guess. I won't make anything lemon when you visit the lake : ) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI'm 'so-so' about lemons but love what you wrote: "Even those lemons are a blessing when sprinkled with the gospel and some sugar!" I need to ask the VW dealership about that Nitrogen business when (if?) I ever get my car back. Please let us know what you learn about AAA roadside assistance!
ReplyDeleteIt really is fun to meet someone who recognizes you. I get that a lot but usually because I remind them of someone. Interesting about the tires. I didn't know that! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder your favorite summer was the summer you met Joe! :) I am not too successful with mental lists - I like to write mine down. It seems you made lemonade out of lemons, and you don't even know you are aware of it. Positive person for sure. I loved school too - had 771 in my high school graduating class. Happy you got news tires and saw a blast from the past.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to run into someone unexpectedly and get to catch up a bit. I've never heard of the nitrogen thing...I have to tell hubby and see if he knows.
ReplyDeleteNow, that kind of summer is the best, Terri! Like you, I loved school from beginning to end. Virginia, if you can believe it, started high school yesterday. How in the world do our grands grow up so fast?
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
What great summer memories m
ReplyDeleteNitrogen in a tire - wow! I've never heard of that. I love learning something new!!
ReplyDeleteNitrogen in tires is a new one on me too.
ReplyDeleteLove those small world experiences. There was a time in the 1990s when I had a lot of them as I traveled a lot in airports. It was just amazing.
