Thanks to Crazy Sam for today's questions! Y'all can join in HERE!
Morning Train
Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Morning Train (1981)
1) In this song, Sheena Easton sings about her lover, who takes a train to and from work each day. When was the last time you took public transportation? Where did you go? We flew to Ohio back in 2017.
2) His workday begins at 9 and ends at 5. Do your days stick to a predictable schedule? Since I've been working part-time, yes I have had to stick to a predictable schedule. That's about to change in another week!!
3) In the evening she sings that they may go to a movie, a restaurant or slow dancing ... whatever she wants. Which of those would you choose? A restaurant, please.
7) This weekend is a good reason to have a picnic or barbecue. The best-selling barbecue sauce flavors are sweet, spicy, and smoky. What's your favorite? Sweet, please.

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

4) As a little girl, Sheena Easton performed at family gatherings, not just because she was talented but because she could be a bit of a ham. When you were a kid, were more often shy or outgoing? I am probably more outgoing than shy.
5) In the late 1980s she was the spokeswoman for Bally's health clubs. Do you have a gym membership? LOLOLOL... I can't stop laughing at that one. I belonged to a gym once and hated everything about it, so no. Never again.
6) In 1987 she played Sonny Crockett's love interest on Miami Vice. Were you a fan of the show? I don't think I've seen even one episode of Miami Vice.
7) This weekend is a good reason to have a picnic or barbecue. The best-selling barbecue sauce flavors are sweet, spicy, and smoky. What's your favorite? Sweet, please.
8) Labor Day weekend may offer a golden opportunity for napping and sleeping in. Do you snore? I've not stayed awake to listen... hahaha. If I'm on my back, I can snore. On my side, I think not. Joe told me once that I don't snore, I purr. Bless him.
9) Labor Day traditionally marks the beginning of the fall. Will you be adding any new fall clothes to your wardrobe? I have purchased a couple of new tops that were on sale. I'm still looking for something to wear to my nephew's wedding. I'm going to hit some stores in another week or so. I'm not a shopper.
Peace and Hugs!
I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold,
I’d rather be His than have riches untold;
I’d rather have Jesus than houses or land,
I’d rather be led by His nail-pierced hand:

Your count down begins... So happy for you! 2nd time around is the best.... :)
ReplyDeleteFun! I haven't heard that song in so long!
ReplyDeleteI had a gym membership once too and felt the same as you. :)
Hooray for retirement just around the corner!
Thank heavens I don't need any more clothes. I'd rather have gas for the trucks and food in my belly. That makes me content.
ReplyDeleteNo gym membership here for me either. Tried it a few times in the 80s. Not my thing, it was a waste of my time and money, and I'll never do that again.
Counting down with you to retirement. What a joyful day for you that will be!
Have a great weekend. 💙
I think we all dabbled in gym memberships at one time. Like you, I hated every minute. For the life of me, I can't understand how many people look so happy while exercising.
ReplyDeleteYounger Myra was really shy, but working in television -- then hospitality taught me to act "as if."
Happy weekend! xo
and now i'm humming the song you posted at the end!! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to belong to a gym (free with our health plan) but i hated it too so don't belong anylonger but our ins changed and it's no longer free to join. we might join out town's fitness center but that's kind of pricey. i'd need to go often to make it worth it and just not sure i would...we're stil thinking about that one!
I hope you have a lovely Saturday
I'm not a shopper either, Terri. I hope you can find the perfect outfit for the upcoming wedding. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad retirement is very, very close for you. You certainly deserve it! And then to celebrate with a trip to the wedding-- now that's great news (and perfect blog fodder!).
ReplyDeleteI simply cannot believe your retiring, yet again, smiles. I hope when you do buy that item for the wedding, you will show us, have a great weekend, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI’m not much of a shopper either. I hope you find something fantastic for the wedding
ReplyDeleteYour 2nd retirement is coming up that soon?! That is so awesome! I'm happy for you, Terri! I used to love shopping before pain became a thing. Now I kind of like shopping online, which can be dangerous since it's so easy to do!
ReplyDeleteAre you "re-retiring" that soon? Congrats! I remember watching Miami Vice but it was a long long time ago!
ReplyDeleteI retired from full-time work back in 2017. This is my part-time job I've had for three years (since Joe died). I'm ready to be retired 'again'!!
DeleteI am flying up, Pam. Tammy can't go and it's too far to drive by myself.
