Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 563
2. What's in the trunk of your car right now? Publix cloth bags that I always forget to take in with me, a couple of old towels, two or three umbrellas, and one of my canes that I just haven't brought in to put away. It's not really a trunk since I drive an SUV.
3. Summer foods vs. fall foods...which do you prefer? Probably summer foods and my choices are in red...
Would you rather-watermelon or caramel apple? iced coffee or pumpkin spiced latte? potato salad or sweet potato casserole? barbecued ribs or roast turkey? ice cream sandwich or apple pie? corn on the cob or candy corn?
4. August 7th is National Lighthouse Day. Have you visited any lighthouses? Just two. Do you have a favorite? No. Is a lighthouse something you seek out if you're visiting an area known for theirs? No. I'm not that interested in lighthouses, though they are very picturesque. I've only visited the one at St. Augustine and the one at St. Simon's Island.
5. Light at the end of the tunnel, out like a light, give the green light, a lightbulb moment, in a new light, in the limelight...of the 'light' idioms listed which applies in some way to your life lately? Explain. Give the green light. I have lined up my cat sitters, have reserved a ride to and from the airport, have made my hotel reservation for the wedding venue, and have been offered to stay the week with my sister, Patti. That gives me the "green light" to purchase my airline tickets. It's a "go" for my trip to Ohio to celebrate my nephew's wedding at the end of September. Patti and I will have time to get into trouble, perhaps. I know she already has nail appointments for us. Whew!! I haven't been to Ohio since 2017.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I purchased the sweetest fresh cherries at Publix last week. I'm about to finish the last few and may have to go tomorrow after work and hope they have some more. I would like some peaches too. Yum.
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

The fruit has been especially great this year here in PA... apricots and peaches so far...oh and the blueberries. (Wherever it all comes from.)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving summer food here - fresh produce is so good.
ReplyDeleteI also love lighthouses and have visited a lot of them. MI has more lighthouses than any other state so there are a lot for me to see.
Hooray for the green light! I can see you and Patti getting into trouble. :) But in a good way!
Housework is an Olympic event - when you think about it - it never stops. I can't get on my artificial knee!
ReplyDeleteI like summer and fall food for different reasons I guess.
Two light houses are more than I have seen. I forgot about those two.
Have fun in Ohio - since 2017 - have fun and get into a little trouble with your sister Patti. I did not realize she lived in Ohio - I thought she lived in GA.
Sandie
I have two sisters!
DeleteThe cherries have been so good this year! We've eaten our share lol. I'm glad everything has come together for your trip. We are going to see our across the pond family in Sept and I need to get myself better organized. It's been so busy here I haven't had a lot of time to think about it and now I feel like it's coming up quick. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteBoy, I can sure identify with the housework (baseboards!) and knees. Wish I could find a midget/toddler with boundless energy. (lol)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for your upcoming trip. What's the old commercial jingle, "You deserve a break today, so get up and on your way ...."
Hi Terri: Enjoyed your answers and I'm so happy you get to come to Ohio for the wedding and to be with family!
ReplyDeleteFun answers. We cleaned the house this morning and it did feel like an Olympic event! I was pooped by the end of it. 💙
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad the details for your trip to Ohio are coming together so well. It should be a wonderful vacation for you!
