This has been a crazy week. I am trying to get some issues at the house taken care of that I've been putting off. There have been people here to give me some estimates, and they have taken some pictures. They have more pictures than I do!! LOL, but I do have a few to share.
This mama duck has 10 littles and they are
living in a retention pond at my work.
Co-worker, Norman, took this photo with his "good" camera.
This week's message...
This baby frog has been hanging around and was on the door's window yesterday morning. It was driving Casper crazy. He kept jumping at the window, trying to get him. When I left for work, the frog jumped to the side of the house and I got this photo. There are lots of baby frogs around. It's wet everywhere.
This is the view of Lake Morton from the drive-thru at my bank. Not bad!
Projects I'm working with companies to get done... screening around the outside of my house to keep critters out. You may remember that I had an injured possum crawl under my house and die. Stunk for three days. Neighbor Bill says I have stray cats going under my house. Manufactured homes are on concrete foundation blocks and ours, here in Mas Verde, have decorative bricks to cover the gap. This picture is of my neighbor's house but you can see their screening through the bricks. Mine will look like that next Tuesday!
The same company will also repair under the house where some of the plastic and insulation has become loose and is hanging down. Critters have been playing under there.
Another project is to clean out the 17 HVAC vents in my house. They will make a repair where the HVAC unit comes into the house, clean out all of the vents, and when they finish, blow in a freshening vapor. This is safe for people and pets. Both of the techs who were here have cats (and babies) at home, so they understand about safety.
Those are the big ones. I also have some other handyman-type projects to think about later. I reported earlier about the bathroom repair. Retirement means getting some much-needed work done!!
Peace and Hugs!!
How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!

Good plan to get those things taken care of before retirement. It'll be worth it.
ReplyDeleteLove the sign! I do wonder where those years went...
Now that Momma duck as quite the family! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat blog
ReplyDeleteGood deal. The decorative bricks are classy. We have big concrete blocks with screen over the vents under our built-off-grade home. It keeps the underside clean and dry. You're gonna like having that feature. We also had our A/C vents cleaned a few years ago like you described. It was well worth it. Hope your day is blessed. 💙
ReplyDeleteI love the way the skirting looks and I hope the screens will keep the critters out. Morton Lake is beautiful and so are the baby ducks! Hope you have a good day!
ReplyDeleteLove those ducks! What a beautiful family!!! I would love to see them! And good for you to get those projects done before you retire. Yes, skirting around the bottom of a manufactured home is so important. We have the traditional white skirting on ours, but we had to put that on new when we moved here because the old skirting was in bad shape. Our insurance company said it had to be done, like you said, to keep the varmints out! So far so good! And yes, I love the sign at the dry cleaners. Those wonder years have long gone...but I still wonder about the years to come, however, God has them in His hand and in His control, so I don't need to worry while I wonder. Good post. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteSure seems like the projects involving a home are never ending, Terri. I love your photos of the ducks and the frog, too. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Home ownership is a gift, but comes with constant repairs I think. Or at least one that is aging like ours.
ReplyDeleteI loved the sign at the dry cleaners. My birthday is approaching and I have been thinking a lot about where did it all go.
Have a great weekend.
The frog is kind of cute in a way.
ReplyDeleteAND WHERE DID THE TIME GO?
So, you are getting a lot of things done on your home - that is wonderful! I am so happy for you. Not long to go to retirement!
