On Friday evening, I met my friends, Livia and Wilma, for an early supper at Cheddar's. We had a great time talking, eating good food, and laughing.
The cats allowed me to sleep in a bit on Saturday. I stripped the bed and did the sheets, and also got some cleaning done. Dusting, vacuuming, and spot mopping done and then I spent an hour or so doing more sorting and tossing things in the den. I'm actually seeing the progress now!
My dear friend and neighbor, Dee, is a quilter. She has been wanting me to choose one of her quilts for a gift for months. I've always just pooh-poohed it, saying I know how special they are and how much work goes into them, etc., etc. I finally told her I would love to have one that she chooses for me. She has been working on three or four and asked me to come over for a minute. She showed me three that she just finished and told me to pick one. I did - and she said that is the one she thought I would pick... I love the colors.
She wanted to wash it first and then later brought it over. I had to pose for pictures.
What a special gift and special thing for her to do for me. Blessings for sure.
I think I've mentioned that I have also been working on my bathroom by taking the sliding glass doors down from the walk-in shower. I had a plain white liner that I've been using but found the one pictured below to hang up too. There is nothing elegant about my house. Comfortable and lived in... I just had to order this when I saw it on the Wayfaire website. I'm the silly cat lady so had to have it. It makes me happy!!
Yesterday was Sunday school and church. Laundry. That's it. The week ahead starts with a doctor's appointment after work today. Just my regular check-up. On Thursday I am having lunch with my friend, Dawn. The weekend brings Mother's Day and also Mayfaire by-the-Lake. I'm picking up my friend, Judy, to tag along with me at Mayfaire.
I want to ask my prayer-warrior friends to pray for my boss, Danon. He is having back surgery on Wednesday and will be out for four to six weeks. Please pray for the surgical team and for his successful surgery and healing. Thanks!

The quilt is pretty and such a special gift. I know you will cherish it!

Oh, what a friend you have in Dee! The quilt is gorgeous, and what a feeling to realize how much you're thought of. That shower curtain is a panic, isn't it? I may have to visit Wayfaire one of these days. Lifting my prayers now for Danon, his family and caregivers!

Count on me to be praying for Danon and his medical team, Terri! As soon as I close here, I'll put him and his family on my prayer list.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is absolutely gorgeous, too! Please tell Dee that I think she has such a wonderful talent. I have a quilt from my mother's house, but she bought it a long time ago.
Blessings for a great week!
