Remembering, with reverence, those men and women who lost their lives serving our country. A day set aside to honor them is the least we can do.
It was a quiet weekend for me and I am working today, but that's okay. I am blessed to have this job. God is so good.
Friday was lunch with Shirley. Always fun catching up with her. We enjoyed our Chinese food at Peking House.
Saturday was productive for me. I finally got the "den" sorted and some things hung on the walls and most everything has been at least organized enough that I know where things are. Feels good!!
It felt funny not having Sunday school yesterday. My church takes the summer off for Sunday school so we won't get back to Exodus until the first Sunday of August. I always sit with Wilma and Livia and they also mentioned how strange it was coming so late, We sit with Cindy too, but her hubby said she wasn't feeling well so we missed her.
I popped into Publix on the way home and then I did my usual laundry, mopped the kitchen, and watched some TV. I talked with my BFF Elaine, and my sister, Tammy. Patti and I talked on Saturday. I also talked with my son Joe and DIL Darlene on Saturday evening.
When I get home from work today, I have watermelon, corn-on-the-cob, baked beans, and hot dogs planned for my dinner. They are having a pot-luck at the clubhouse but it starts at noon and I won't be home. That's okay. I will eat well!!
Some may remember that Myra, from Respice, Prospice, had a giveaway a few weeks ago for a vintage cookbook. I WON!!! It came in the mail Friday and I almost forgot to post my pictures and to again tell her THANK YOU!! I am not someone who wins things often so when I do, it is to be celebrated. I have already marked a few of the recipes to try!!
Yum on your dinner. I really need to get around and dust and sort through things. smiles--
ReplyDeleteThe supper sounds good. I'm doing laundry today. Afterwards, we'll be running an errand to a neighbor. That's about it. It will probably be 100* again. Ugh. Too early for this. LOL 💙

Hope you have a peace-ful afternoon, and that supper sounds yummy. We are home today because hubby is prepping for his colonoscopy tomorrow. But we had our Memorial Day "picnic" at home yesterday with the kids, so I have some leftovers today for me while John drinks his beef broth and gatorade, etc. LOL. Hope you have a good good week.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day at work. Yes, the job does seem like a good fit and with prices these days and property taxes and insurance in Florida, a job that is beyond what you planned is a good thing. Your meal sounds wonderful. I think it will be hamburgers for us:)
