It's a May Day Hodgepodge!!

Thank you, Joyce, for today's Hodgepodge!!  Y'all can be Hodgepodgers HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 549

From this Side of the Pond

1. Mayday! Mayday!...when was the last time (or a recent time) you literally or figuratively needed to call for help?   I was happy to have my son, Joey, do my tax return for me and to also take the huge and very heavy file cabinet out of the 'den' for me.  He and Darlene can use it for the Horse Sanctuary.  Elaborate.  I didn't have to do my own tax return and some space was made for me to fill up with other stuff.  Not really something to call mayday for but it was a HUGE help!

2. May Day...when was the last time you danced?  It's been a long time.  Do you have a lot of baskets?  I do. Sigh.  What's something you keep in a basket?  Coverlets, pillows, cat toys, cat toys, did I say cat toys?  Office supplies, sewing supplies...  What's your favorite purple flower?  Lilacs.

3. What's something you may do this month?  I am planning to go to Mayfaire in a couple of weeks.  My long-time readers know that my former employer, Polk Museum of Art, hosts a fine art festival every year (52 years, I think) on the banks of our beautiful Lake Morton.  There will be around 180 artists, food trucks, my old friends/co-workers, and wonderful art to enjoy.

4. Do you like eggplant?  It's okay.  Not a favorite.   Quick topic changes lol? If you said yes in answer to the eggplant question how do you like yours prepared? Of the following purple foods, which one is your favorite...plums, purple carrots, purple asparagus, eggplant, acai berries, blackberries, purple cauliflower, elderberries, purple potatoes, or passion fruit?  I'll go with plums and blackberries.  I don't think I've had any of the other purple foods.

5. The calendar turns on Hodgepodge Day...

"Then you have to remember to be thankful; but in May one simply can't help being thankful that they are alive, if for nothing else."-L.M. Montgomery

Tell us one thing you're thankful for today.  I am thankful for a new day!!  I am thankful for my friends and safe travels for some.  I am thankful for the power of prayer and ask you prayer warriors to remember our blogging friend, Martha Jane and her husband, Danny, who had heart surgery yesterday.  Waiting to hear how it all went and praying for quick and perfect healing.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I got an 'all clear' at the dermatologist yesterday!  I go every six months because I had a couple of pre-melonoma spots removed.  I will still go every six months, but am sure happy she didn't find anything to cut out this time!  Hooray!

Peace and Hugs!!

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!!

  3. Not a fan of eggplant but to each his own. Some people don't like cilantro because it tastes like soap. Me, I love it! It's all a matter of what our tastebuds prefer I think.
My favorite flowers are Giant Sunflowers. They're so bright and cheerful.
Glad there's no more pre-cancer on the skin! I had one cut off ages ago. Nothing has returned nor nothing new. So far, so good. I don't even try to stay out of the sun unless it's super hot or cover up. Maybe it was a one off for me.
    Have a great week! Blessings.

  4. I'm glad you had a good appointment. Our days of tanning have caught up with us it seems. My girls (and their generation in general) are so careful with their skin and I'm sure will age better because of it. I'm trying to do better now, but that sun damage from the teen years is hard to combat. I'd love to go to Mayfaire sometime. Is it always the same weekend?

  5. So glad all was good at the dermatologist's. I could have said puppy toys in the baskets, but although they are supposed to be there, the basket is usually empty and the toys are on the floor. For some reason Lucy can't stand her toys to be put away. lol Have a great day Terri!

  6. Love your shares! Our son Jeremy does our taxes too. It is a great help. I dance all the time. Leo was the best dog, I miss him so much. He would watch me sing and dance to him. The look on his face was so curious. hahaha. I don't know if he thought I was crazy or just entertaining him. Considering we met while dancing a long time ago, my husband Avery does not like dancing. I dance whenever my knees aren't aching. hahaha I hope you have a blessed and beautiful day. Happy May Day!

  8. Congratulations on another 'all clear'! How I'd like to have a Joey in my life to do some heavy lifting. (Son's willing, but like Tom, he has back issues.) Your Mayfaire reminds me of an open-air art show I attended in one year at Mount Dora ... my idea of a GREAT day. Happy May Day!

Nice Joey did your taxes and that you are going to go to Mayfaire and have all that fun with old friends.
