The Tuesday 4...

Thanks to Annie for today's questions.  You can join in HERE.

Brands or Not??

Welcome to another of Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 and this week we will use one from November of 2018...

1.   Food: ~ Do you buy brand names or go for the cheaper store name brand?  I buy Publix (or Kroger) brands most of the time.  They compare favorably to brand names.

2.   Clothes: ~ Wear designer jeans/slacks with a brand name or regular department store jeans/slacks?  Designer brands don't fit me.  I'm a big girl and wear tall slacks.  I haven't been a size 2 since 2nd grade (wink-hahaha).  I buy from sale racks, online clearance sales, and catalogs that carry plus and tall sizes.

3.   Handbags: ~ Buy a designer bag or look for a less expensive copy?  I don't care about designer anything so don't even consider finding a copy of one.  I've never cared about designer things.

4.   Shoes: ~ You get the drift, designer or a cheaper copy?  Designer shoes don't come in size 12W.  I do like Birkenstocks, Skechers, and Clarks - and any that have the word "comfort" attached. LOL..

Peace and Hugs!

I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.

  1. I won't fudge on certain brands (Charmin, Bounty, Dawn, etc.) but try and buy the store's brand whenever possible. The only time I was 'bit', I tried saving 20-cents on a can of garlic-and-oregano tomato sauce that wasn't Del Monte. Ugh.
Designer anything has never been in my wheelhouse. I did, however, buy a set of cloth napkins for a song at an estate sale b/c I loved the color. Only when I went to wash them and looked for the care label I discovered they were Ralph Lauren. HA!

  2. I love Skechers, Terri; just got some new slip-ons delivered yesterday and they are SO comfortable. I'm no designer girl, either.
    Blessings!

  3. I'm with you - store brand for lots of foods and no designer stuff. Who could afford it!

  4. My answers would align with yours! Although one time I found a pair of Tommy Hilfiger sweatpants in a thrift store, and those, pre-owned, lasted the longest of any "house pants" I ever had. So a quality brand can be a better value, but I can't be a Spendy McMoneyPants!

  5. My answers are a lot like yours. I don't really care about designers either. You are one tall gal and I bet you have trouble finding clothes - like I do being short!

  6. Skechers are my fav shoes and boots. They fit me just right. We do 99% of our shopping at the local Piggly Wiggly (aka The Pig) and Wall's IGA in Blackshear. Today we went slumming and shopped at the "small" Mart (WalMart Market) in Waycross because they're the only local store that carries some keto foods we like. Small mart is cheaper but I really don't like shopping there. Much prefer to stay in our own county even though the cost is a bit higher because we're laid back, closer to home and friendly.
    Blessings.

  7. Great answers. I'm not a brand name person usually.
