The Wednesday Hodgepodge...

Thanks to our hostess, Joyce, for today's questions!  You can join in HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 548

From this Side of the Pond

1. When did you last have canceled plans? Were you happy about that or disappointed?   I had to cancel a doctor's appointment because of company coming.  I changed it and was quite happy to have family here instead of being at the doctor's office for a couple of hours.

2. On a scale of 1-10 how much of a planner are you?  I'll go with 7.

3. Do you have a menu plan for the week?  Nope.  If so tell us one or two things that are on it. If not, what's your plan for not having a plan lol? It's just me now, but even when Joe was still here, I didn't do menu plans.  The pantry is full and the freezer has meats and veggies.  I can always make something from what's on hand.

4. The Hodgepodge lands on National Bucket List Day. Do you have a bucket list? Is it written down or just in your head? What is one thing on your bucket list? If you don't have a list, what is one thing you'd add to a list if you did? Yes I'm going to make you think about it.  I don't have a bucket list, written or stored in my head.  If I have to make one, I want to retire again and take some road trips.

5. Rain buckets, a drop in the bucket, couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, sweat buckets, cry buckets...which 'bucket' idiom applies to your life in some way currently?  I guess I'll go with raining buckets.  March and April have brought great joy with buckets of family visiting!!  My "bucket" ran over with love!!

6. Insert your own random thought here.  Motivation. Do you ever feel like you are just in a holding pattern?  Circling the airport, waiting for a touch-down with some motivation attached?  I just can't get my 'den' organized.  I do a little and then there seems to be more that needs to be done.  It will get done. It will get done. It will get done. It will get done....

Peace and Hugs!

Isaiah 40:29-31 New Living Translation (NLT)

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles

  1. I'm a planner - day planner, week planner and meal planner! :)
    Have a great day!

  2. I am generally very organized and like to plan almost everything.
Events that change my schedule upset me, but I adapt easily.

  3. I used to plan our trips, but now we just kind of fly by the seat of our pants. Sometimes I think I should plan more, but even when I do, I end up not following the plan and then I feel guilty. So why not just skip the planning and do what I need and/or want to do. Hope you have a great day!

  4. I relate very well to that sentiment. I go in spurts though. I will have a burst of energy for cleaning, creativity, getting stuff done, then bam it's gone. It comes back though...don't be too hard on yourself. Have a great day!

  5. "My bucket ran over with love!" ... That's such a neat turn of words; I want to borrow that sometime. The way my year's going, I should rename my bucket list to what a friend calls her 'Possibilities list.' Less expectations, right?

    1. Your Possibilities List gave me a chuckle, Myra. Have you ever watched Last Holiday with Queen Latifah? If not, try to find it. It's one of my favorites! She has a Possibilities List too! Love ya!

  6. I do know what you mean by being in a holding pattern - I feel a little bit like that now.
I have a little bucket list.
I hate to admit it but I am probably a 9 on being a planner. But the good thing is that plans can be changed and I can easily accept it. Not always true - but since I have aged.
We try to plan a little menu for the week too.

  7. I used to be a very detailed menu-planner and my grocery list, too. No more. As you said, when the pantry and freezer are full, we can always whip up something to eat. I wish I had figured that out decades ago.

  8. Love that verse. Your menu "plans" are much like mine. I shop for whatever is on special and then we figure out our meals as we go. Sometimes we just feel like having a sandwich for supper rather than fixing a big meal. Depends on what we ate for lunch. Everyday is a new adventure that way! LOL. You will get your den done eventually, but is there a reason for you to rush through it? No. So take your time and don't wear yourself out doing it. It will get done, but meanwhile, you are enjoying life and family visits, etc., which is much more important. So there! LOL.

  10. If your bucket list is focused on family, how can that be the best one of all? Blessings always, Terri!
