Monday's Weekend Recap...

I had a glorious weekend.  The weather has been beautiful and I got to spend Saturday with my grandkids!!  What more could I ask for?

When I arrived at The Captain's Table, at Fisherman's Wharf, in Punta Gorda... I was early and asked to be seated.  Lauren had reserved a table for FOUR.  Who else was coming?!!  When they arrived, Lauren and Jeremy were behind grandson Tristan!!!  He lives in New York City right now (though he is looking for a new job and location) but came "home" for a couple of weeks.  I had no idea he was in Florida!!  Happy Grandma here!!

Always a beautiful view...

A silly selfy...

Lauren and Jeremy.  They are so sweet together and
I am so happy for them both to have found each other.
(Tristan whispered to me that he hadn't seen Lauren so happy in years!)

The two-hour ride there and back again was uneventful.  The weather was perfect for the drive.  We had fun at the restaurant and Tristan picked up the tab for all of us.  Bless him.  We laughed a lot, showed pictures, and I heard about Lauren and Jeremy's skiing trip to Colorado in February.  Lauren hadn't been skiing in years but quickly got back in the groove. Jeremy does snowboarding.  Lauren shared this photo of them...

I went to Sunday school and church yesterday.  Got home and did my laundry, and spot-vacuumed.  I really don't know how my cats have any fur left on their bodies with the amount that I vacuum up every few days.  Orange cats can shed!!

The week ahead is pretty chill for me.  Nephew Jim and his wife Mary are coming on Friday for a visit.  I hope they can stay overnight but haven't heard yet what their plans are.  They are going to Disney for the week and coming by here when they check out of the resort over there.  The last time they were here (before covid) they had their two kids with them.  Now the kids are out of college and off on their own.  Jim and Mary just moved to South Carolina from Maryland  (retired!) so it is nice having family a little closer!

Wishing you a good week ahead!

Peace and Hugs!

God is so good!!

  2. How wonderful to spend time with your dear grandkids (and Jeremy!) and now next weekend you'll get to see a nephew and wife! God has truly blessed you with good family and friends! Maybe Tristan will find a job closer to home? I know NYC can't be much fun these days! Praying all goes well for him and that God will lead him to the right place! I hope you have a wonderful week!

  9. Oh wow, I'd have loved to see your face when Tristan walked in! I love how they love you. I don't know that I'll ever get back, but that view of Charlotte Harbor just gives me all the 'feels.' I hope you have a great visit with Jim and Mary, however brief!
