Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 546
2. It's spring (in the northern hemisphere anyway)...would you rather spend the day hiking in the great outdoors or planting a garden? Can I just take a little walk instead? Not a hiker and definitely not a gardener. Do you/will you have a garden this year? No. Flowers, vegetables, or a bit of both? I keep thinking I should plant tomatoes in a pot but I haven't tried it yet. I don't have a yard here... it's just a postage stamp. I have a brown thumb plus all the other digits on both hands.
3. Do you consider yourself a patient person? I can't lie. No. In what sort of situation is patience not desirable? I think some level of patience is always desirable. Are you happy with the degree of patience you have in your daily life? I work on it all the time but still fail often. If not, what can you do to cultivate more of this quality in your life? Every morning part of my devotion time includes asking the Holy Spirit to fill me with Himself and cause His fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, PATIENCE, kindness, goodness faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
4. Do you like the flavor of cinnamon? Absolutely! If so what's your favorite something made with cinnamon? I like cinnamon on my toast, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon candies, and Goldschlager liquor (!!). I just like cinnamon!
5. Learn by watching or learn by doing? Elaborate. I like a combination of the two. It depends on what I'm learning. I do follow directions pretty well, so please make sure it is written down or there is a pencil and paper for me to take notes while watching and/or while doing.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I am meeting up with Granddaughter Lauren this Saturday for lunch!! Y'all know how much I look forward to our time together. Not sure if her Jeremy is also coming but that would also be nice. I will make sure to get a photo, one way or the other. This was from our November lunch...

It will be so nice to see Lauren again!
ReplyDeleteHaving an accountant in the family is a nice thing.
You should get a little porch pot with a tomato plant in it. Fresh tomatoes are so good.
We don't have a big garden but have a rasied bed and plant a few tomatoes, basil and some green peppers.
I enjoyed this post. Glad your son did your taxes for you. I use Turbo Tax and it works great for us, but we don't have much stuff to account for anymore since we retired, so it is easy peasy. One benefit of being poor. LOL. Kudos to you for persevering in the den room. I can imagine how "taxing" that must be, as I have my own "rooms" that need much work...and a shed that is a disaster zone. But that is supposed to be hubby's zone, but well...never mind. LOL. So happy you get to see Lauren this weekend. That should be delightful for both of you. And patience is one of those virtues that continues to "try" our patience even when we think we've got it figured out! There's always something that comes up! That's just life, I guess. Thanks be to Jesus and His Holy Spirit for helping us cope! Have a blessed and wonderful rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the price of the tomatoes now...
ReplyDeleteI love cinnamon, too, Terri. Have a wonderful lunch with Lauren, too. She sounds like such a delightful granddaughter, inside and out. We also have a CPA who does our taxes, and that's such a great help to us at this stressful time of the year. As I mentioned before, I'm so glad that your Joey took the time to get yours done for you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to all of your family!
Having worked many years for a CPA, I'm convinced they're worth every cent. Thankfully, we're no longer obligated to file.
ReplyDeleteI, too, boast brown fingers and thumbs, but I'm intrigued at the thought of growing tomatoes in a pot. Let us know if you decide!
Yesssss to Cinamon, and your response to #3 is perfect. For some reason last night I couldn't wrap my mind around an answer.
I, too, pray for the fruit of the spirit to be in my life. Sometimes my humanness shines through instead :-).
ReplyDeleteI pray for help too!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with Lauren.
I like cinnamon too.
I have patience - I need more!
I am with you not really a hiker - or a gardener!
I forgot to mention cinnamon candies in my answer but that is my favorite. Hot tamales especially-yum! I love that you and your granddaughter make time for one another. That is so special and I'm sure she enjoys it just as much as you do. Have a wonderful day with her!
