Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 547
2. Do you have a special place or organizational system for gift wrapping? Nope. Do you still buy 'real' cards to send for birthdays, anniversaries, get-well, etc? Yes, I still send real cards to family and close friends. I do rely on Jacquie Lawson and Facebook for digital remembrances. I don't have an address for many of my online friends. Postage is going up to 73 cents on July 14th. I'll be rethinking my Christmas card list, I think. I do have plans to buy a couple of rolls of Forever Stamps before July. You should too!
3. It's National Banana Day...are you a fan? No. What's your favorite thing to make with bananas or, if you're not a cook, your favorite thing to eat that contains banana? I don't have a favorite banana recipe or anything with bananas in it to eat. I will eat a banana now and then. Joe liked them. Actually, I don't think I've purchased bananas since he died. It's been a long time, anyway.
4. Do you believe in second chances? Elaborate. I do believe in second chances. Joe was my second chance at marriage and he rescued me. We are all human and we all mess things up. Second chances, yes, but perhaps not a third. Depends.
5. What is your idea of fun? I was just thinking about this. I really don't know. When Joe died, I was swept into caring for my friend, Helen, and getting her settled in assisted living. Then I had to pretty quickly find a job so I could manage my finances without having to move. I am looking forward to being able to retire (again) hopefully some day. I will then need to discover or rediscover fun things to do. Family and friends are fun and I am so very blessed to be surrounded by people who care. My hobbies have been lost these last three years, though, and I am ready for some new adventures!
6. Insert your own random thought here. I will just say see #5.
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!!

#3 Bananas...yes.. the old CMP. Chocolate Marshmallow peanut sundae with a slice of bananas on each side...the good old days.
ReplyDeletePostage is getting ridiculous. It's fun to get things in the mail, but a person could go broke! I'll have to remember to buy a bunch of forever stamps before the price goes up.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind bananas, but don't get them often. Banana Cream pie is good!
Postage going up! Thanks for reminding me of this! I am a widow, and I went back to work.
ReplyDeleteI think a trip to the lake would be a good new adventure for you : ) I don't mind so much paying a little more for a stamp, but the price of cards is crazy! I still buy them though, because getting a card in the mail is a day brightener for me. Have a great day Terri!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard about postage going up AGAIN. (*sigh*) Better I take your advice and get some of those Forever stamps. Being kind (I think) is a rare gem in today's world; great suggestion! When I was working full-time, accumulating PTO for vacation was my idea of fun. Circumstances with Tom's health, however, I need to explore more adventures close to home. Thanking the Good Lord for Blogland!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the skills. I do send out cards from the Dollar Tree. I know postage is going up - I have to buy some more stamps. Sadly I haven't sent Christmas cards in awhile. I believe in second chances - had to have some myself.
ReplyDeleteSo you don't like bananas?
I think you have done a terrific job since Joe died. I know how much and how close you two were. I don't know what I would do. I hope you get to retire soon - but it seems like a fun job!
Great idea to get those stamps before those rates go up - we plan to do the same. I do love sending cards to family and friends on special occasions, especially birthdays. I hate to think I'll probably have to cut back on Christmas cards, but probably will have to restrict those, too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Terri!
The skill that I think is absolutely useful for all of us is adaptability. I strongly believe in second chances especially for education! I really like bananas! Have a nice day🌷!
