The Tuesday 4...

Thanks to Annie for today's Tuesday 4!  You can join in HERE!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Welcome to the first of Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 of April 2024.

1. What spring flowers/trees are your favorites?  My all-time favorite blooming tree is the lilac.  They don't grow here in the hot south.  My favorite flower is the daisy.

2. Do you ever bring home bouquets for your home?  No.   I've written about it before - I'm not a flower person. Let them grow and don't pick them.  Heavy scents give me headaches and my cats just make a mess of flowers and/or plants in the house.

3. If you are married, what flowers were in your bouquet?  It was small and pretty.  I don't remember the flowers. If you aren't, which flowers would you like in a bridal bouquet?

4. Do you check the weather forecast for the upcoming month?  No.  It is said that April showers bring May flowers. Will your April be rainy this year?  It's not too wet in April, here in Central FL, but we will be heading into hurricane season and our usual afternoon rains. High temps will be in the mid-80s.

Peace and Hugs!

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

  1. I love lilacs too. When I was a kid we had a huge lilac tree and I remember bringing them to our teachers.
When I had cats in the house, no flowers were brought inside. I had the same issue as you!
We're supposed to get snow again this week, but right now it's raining!

  2. I also love lilacs and grieve over the fact that they don't grow in Florida! It was also my mother's favorite flower. She was an Ohio girl so grew up with them and really missed them when we moved to Florida. I enjoyed your answers. I rarely bring home bouquets of cut flowers, except for the ones I pick myself out in the woods or wildflowers. or a rose if it is blooming. Oh, I agree about the heavy scents. Even though I love lilacs, I don't really like to have them inside the house because they are too strong. Same as gardenias. I get a headache just thinking about them! LOL. I'm expecting company from Ohio today (cousin) so will do my post later. Bye for now.

  3. Hurricane season is never a welcome time is it! My lilacs will be blooming soon at least they look like they will. I had a good friend who suffered headaches from scents and sometimes being in public places was a nightmare for her due to the perfumes, etc.

  4. Although I do love a bouquet of flowers cheering up our dining room table from time to time, I can't deal with any that have a strong fragrance. I do so enjoy just watching flowers blooming in the wild. Right now, our azaleas are in full swing - gorgeous!
    Blessings, Terri!

  5. Like you, I love Lilacs, which don't grow here in Florida. But I sure do enjoy the many other flowering bushes we have here, and year 'round!

  6. I'm allergic to pollen, so I only bring flowers in that don't cause problems.
And I only pick thos that need to be picked to keep the plant flowering.

  7. I'm not a flower person either, Terri. My favorites are those I see growing in the wild ... even dandelions.

  8. We have lilacs in our side yard. Can’t wait until they bloom. I don’t remember most of what was in my bouquet, but I know there was stephanotis and gardenias.

  9. We have loads of lilacs here...in fact in our town we have Lilac Festival. The Hulda Klager Lilac gardens are here and she's very well known. My hubby doe not like the scent of lilacs, so I usually just go out to my tree and smell them there..lol
