Saturday 9...

Thanks to Sam for today's Saturday 9!  You can join in HERE!

Cheeseburger in Paradise

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Cheeseburger in Paradise (1978)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

From the archives; Repeated in memory of Jimmy Buffett, who died on September 1.

1) In this song, Jimmy Buffett briefly attempts a healthier diet, which included sunflower seeds, carrot juice, zucchini and bulgur wheat. Do you pay attention to your daily consumption of vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, etc.?  I take my medications as prescribed.  I do not track my diet like I should and I have been off the low-carbs for nearly two months now. It is time to get back to it.

2) Jimmy sings that he'd like french fries with his burger. Do you prefer to dip your fries or drizzle the ketchup over them?  I prefer to dip them and eat them with my fingers.

3) Which cheese would make yours a cheeseburger in paradise: American, cheddar, Swiss, bleu, Muenster, or Monterrey Jack?  Yes, please.  Cheddar is my favorite but I love cheese.

4) Buffett fans call themselves Parrotheads. Concert attire for a well-dressed Parrothead often includes a Hawaiian shirt and a foam fin hat. What will you be wearing tonight?  Not that!  LOL

5) For someone with such an easygoing and laidback vibe, Jimmy is a very busy man. His business ventures include liquors, restaurants and hotels. He's also published eight books. All this in addition to making music! On a scale of 1 to 10 -- with 1 being lazy and 10 being highly motivated -- how would you rate yourself this morning?  I wanted to change all of this to past-tense because we know Jimmy is gone.  On this Saturday morning, I am probably a 7 on motivation to get things done.

6) Jimmy has some very famous fans. Paul McCartney asked him to play at one of his parties, and Barack Obama invited him to perform at a fundraiser. If you could invite anyone -- anyone at all! -- to play at your party, who would you ask?  I would stick to one of our local musicians.  Eli Mosley is an up-and-coming country musician who happens to go to my church and is a member of our Praise Team. He is really talented!  Check him out HERE!  His parents are members of my small group.  He and his dad recently went on a mission trip to Poland with medical supplies for the Ukraine.

7) Jimmy was born on Christmas Day. Does your birthday fall on a major holiday? No, but it is two weeks before Christmas.  If yes, do you mind "sharing" your special day?  I've told everyone that I don't ever want a birthday gift wrapped in Christmas paper!  LOL

8) In 1978, the year this song was popular, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar was first minted. The initial design was not a hit with the public because vending machines could not accept it. What's the last thing you bought from a vending machine?  I can't even remember.  Our hospital doesn't even have vending machines anymore.

9) Random question -- If today's your birthday, your zodiac sign is Virgo. When did you last check your horoscope?  I don't believe in horoscopes.  Joe used to call them horror-scopes! LOL

Peace & Hugs!

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

  2. I don't believe in horoscopes, either. Even before I became a Christian I thought they were a lot of hooey. I had a college boyfriend end things because a fortune teller told him we were not a good match. Good grief! I enjoyed reading your answers. Have a great weekend, Terri!

  4. My nephew's birthday is close to Christmas and I always feel bad for him. I feel like people try to combine gifts.
Cheddar on burgers is yummy. Loved your answers! Have a great weekend. ♥

  5. #1 I find it hard to count the carbs in the summer, I should but…
#7 My grandniece was born on the 4th of July. We were just sitting down to a cookout when “Ring, ring” and the next thing I knew I bowls of potato salad and macaroni salad, burgers and dogs piled high on the grill and then nobody! But we were expecting to get the call.

I was born on Thanksgiving and every few years, my birthday falls on it. I made my parents miss their Thanksgiving dinner. :)

  8. I, too, have been straying too long from Keto/low-carb and need to pay attention before the holidays arrive. Yikes!
Eli is good! You can say, "I knew him when!" I'd have to go with Chapel Hart for my fantasy party ... love their upbeat personalities!

  9. My motivation today is about a 4. I feel like I'm entitled because I've been an 8 or more all week. *giggle*
My dear niece was born the day before Christmas! Bless her heart. Can you imagine? She, too, said "no gifts in Christmas wrapping". We comply. *lol*
Fun post and I think we will all miss Jimmy. At least we have his voice on CD's.
    Blessings. xx
