The Hodgepodge...

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 520

From this Side of the Pond

1. If your life had a theme song for this past year what would it be?

2. Chocolate cake, chocolate milkshake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate truffle, chocolate mousse, chocolate candy bar, or a fudgy chocolate brownie...of the chocolate treats listed, which one is your favorite?  You had me at chocolate.  Which one have you tasted most recently?  Chocolate Ice Cream. Or maybe you don't like chocolate???  I have loved chocolate my whole life.

3. What has surprised you recently?  Gosh, I don't know. Not much surprises me anymore.  I guess I am surprised at how easy the cataract surgery went. Praise God!

4. September 19th is National Voter Registration Day in the US. Are you registered to vote in whatever state or country you happen to live in right now?  Yes. If not, why not? Not counting a political race, what's something you've had to vote on recently?  I haven't had to vote on anything recently.

5. Do you like to hike?  Not so much anymore.  If so, when's the last time you went hiking and where'd ya go? If you're not a hiker are you a walker? I like to walk, now that my knees are new but I don't walk in the heat.  Is walking (for exercise, etc.) part of your daily/weekly routine?  It should be and may be again when I don't have to go to work in the mornings.

6. Insert your own random thought here. On Saturday, when I was feeling pretty punky, I placed a grocery order with Kroger delivery.  This was my fourth order with them.  It was delivered yesterday afternoon.  I can't say enough about how great it is.  The driver has always been polite.  They bring the groceries in and ask where they can put them down.  Frozen food is still frozen.  I had two dozen eggs in this order and not one was cracked.  The produce is fresh and perfect.  Now that I have used up my three free deliveries, this one only cost $6.95.  I asked for it to be delivered between 2:00 and 3:00.  He was here at 2:15.  Awesome service.

Peace & Hugs!

Whatever I face
Whatever the fear
Whatever the cost
You always draw near
Whatever the pain
Whatever may come
Whatever may fall
Your love overcomes”

  1. I use grocery delivery as well... can't believe they can do it for such a low price and is a lifesaver when not feeling up to snuff.

  2. Good song!
I'm all about the chocolate too.
I'm so thankful your surgery went well.
I do grocery pickup. I order them, then stop and pick up on my way home from work. It's great!

  3. I'm glad your surgery went well. I would love to have grocery delivery now and then, but it's not available where we live. Country life lol.

  4. We've wondered about Kroger's delivery! We see the van around here every day and I always liked Kroger's store brands. Thanks for letting us know your experience! Hugs!

  5. Thank you for introducing me to Jeremy's song! I really like him, but tend to forget amid all the 'noise.' That's great service from Kroger! But, do/did you have any qualms about him coming into your home? My friend uses Publix, but I believe they only deliver to the door.

  6. None whatsoever. The Kroger van was parked in front. He politely asked where he could put them. The dining room table is right inside the door. No tipping. Have a nice day and he left. They will put them at the door if that is what you prefer.

  11. "You had me at chocolate." Perfect answer! My middle daughter uses grocery delivery and loves it. I've never tried it, maybe I should. I walk at work, a lot. Some days more than 10,000 steps. I work in a large building and am all over every day!

  12. You had me at chocolate too. *giggle* Hands down Dark Chocolate is my favorite flavor.
That's cool about Kroger delivery! If we lived in Waycross that would be available. We're too far away (25 miles). It's a nice store.
Glad you're better. Hope it stays that way.
    Blessings. xx

  13. Thanks for the report on Kroeger grocery deliveries. I've wondered about them. For the time being, grocery shopping is kinda fun for us, and gives us a pleasant outing (since the Publix employees tend to be nice) but some day I may want to switch over to delivery like this.

As for chocolate, as the years have progressed, dark chocolate has proven to be too strong for me, giving me a whopper of a headache. So I stick to milk chocolate.

I'm so glad your cataract surgery went well.
