Friday Fotos...

I'm sure you are tired of me saying how fast Fridays roll around these days, but oh my goodness!  It's Friday again!  I only have a couple of photos to share and two of them aren't even mine!

I pulled this photo from "this week" last year.
It is strawberry season here in central Florida!

This is what strawberry fields look like not too far down the street from here.

I also pulled this from last year.  I really miss going to the farm.

And the cattle...

This is from this week.  Vinny has been very needy lately.  Perhaps because Lucy
is gone?  He is on my lap at every opportunity.

Now, here are the photos I lifted from my friend Kori's Facebook page.  At last Sunday's church potluck, she brought this chili and it was DELICIOUS.  Lots of us asked for the recipe so she posted it on Facebook for anyone who wants it.  That is why I feel okay pulling it over here for all of you.  I will say this roaster full of her chili is a triple recipe from the recipe below...

That's all I've got!  Did I say my trip to Brunswick this weekend has been canceled?  Darlene's daughter Rita and her beau Doug are visiting for a couple of weeks and that is one of the reasons I was going up this weekend, so I could see them.  But, they are both sick with sore throats and fevers.  A covid test was done yesterday but it is the two-day result test so Darlene said I should stay home.  Even if it is "just" the flu, I sure don't want it.  Bummed out but I do have things on my to-do list that need to get done so I'll be busy.  Sure hope they are able to recover quickly and still enjoy time with Darlene before they have to head home.  I won't have time to go up again until March so will look forward to that.

Peace & hugs!
Relax, God is in control!

  1. This is the time those wonderful oranges come into season as well as I recall. The best oranges in the world. Can't recall their name.

  2. Playing it safe. Good idea.

I plan to get my booster shot today. Been pondering it for a long time. I think it will be okay to proceed.

I hope you get all the things on your To Do List done this weekend.

Lil' Vinny looks so sweet! I'm sure he's baffled by Lucy's absence.

  5. OH, I must go look for fresh strawberries! I haven't seen any yet here, but they are probably out there if I just go look! Thanks for the heads up!@ I am sorry your trip was cancelled and that the family is sick, but I am glad you didn't get up there and then get sick...plus, it is supposed to be really cold up there this weekend I think. So, I hope you can go again soon. Meanwhile, enjoy our beautiful weekend weather and east some fresh strawberries. That chili looks good, although it sounds a bit too spicy for me I think. Still, it looks really good. Now I want some. Take care and have a blessed weekend.

  6. Strawberries! yes!! Lindsay and I were just talking about this the other day. We want to go back and pick strawberries like we did last year. Tucker just loved that, so this year I will hold Palmer and let them pick me some.
I hope you can visit soon. There seems to be some little bugs going around other than Covid these days.

  7. So sorry your weekend plans had to be postponed. But ya, I'm relieved to hear you're not taking any chances. It's supposed to be bitter cold again Sunday, so this chili sounds perfect. I need to omit the beans for a certain Mr. Fussy Pants, but made sure I picked up everything else while at the grocers this morning. Have a great weekend, and please don't over-do!

  8. I'm sorry your trip is cancelled, but I think you are wise in not going.
I bet Vinnie is missing Lucy.
I must admit to being jealous of your strawberries.
I remember the weekly trips to the farm and seeing the animals. I bet they - and their owners miss you too.
    The chili sounds wonderful!

  9. Our strawberries are awful this time of year-green and miserable.
Too bad your can't go like you want to--it's a strange world we are living in. I saved that chili recipe. It sounds delicious. Hugs- Diana

  10. Terri: Oh my gosh what a hoot Male Chauvinist Chili, I love the name, I bet that is some good chili.
Vinny is so sweet, what a honey to want to be by you so much.
I hope it is only the flu, there are more people in the hospital with flu now then ever.
Those strawberries look so plump and yummy.
