You all know I love vintage. Well, I also love Shirley Temple. If these shoes were available back in her day, which pair would she have chosen to wear with this feminine gown? Count down 1-2-3. She starred in movies into the late 40s after growing out of her curly hair and sweetheart persona. Do you have a favorite Shirley Temple movie?
My thoughts: The dress wouldn't be in my closet but Shirley looks great in it. I like the color of pair #1 but have to choose #3 for the dress. Wish they came in the same color as #1. I love all the early Shirley Temple films and will always watch one if it is on. I especially love "The Littlest Rebel", "Heidi", and "Curly Top" but really, any of them are charming!! Here is a list of Shirley's movies! What are your thoughts on the shoes & the movie?
I'm choosing shoe #3, too, Terri. I loved Shirley Temple, and used to tell Virginia that she reminded me of her when she would get all "dramatic." Lol!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
#3... I missed the Shirley hype when young... my mother felt she was too much into attention seeking.... now its funny looking back. I guess it was when kids were to be seen and not heard.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe, I've never seen a Shirley Temple movie? I'm going with shoe #1 -- provided I can lose the rhinestones!
ReplyDelete#3
ReplyDeleteI think I will pick number one - but I want to remove the rhinestones too.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I can't believe Mevely has never seen a Shirley Temple movie - lol - I love Shirley Temple - ☺
I think I will go with shoe #3, like you, Terri. The dress is beautiful. Not sure I'd look good in it.
ReplyDeleteAs for her movies, I have no favorites and have seen very few of them, probably none in their entirety, and yet I admired Shirley Temple for moving out out show business to do really worthwhile things for mankind.
I like Shoes #2.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. xx
Good Morning Terri: I love Shirley Temple anything, she was an amazing actress, I only wish she had continued in movies.
ReplyDeleteShe was lucky to have served in the Government as an Ambassador, an amazing lady for sure.
I would choose the first pair to bring out the pink flowers on the dress.
Have a lovely day
Catherine
I say #3 also. I have a Shirley Temple doll and also some other memorabilia that an elderly friend at church gave me before she passed away. She and I were always talking about Shirley Temple as we both had a love for her. Hope you have a great day and probably either The Little Princess or Heidi would be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteOh My, I would go with #3 to match the dress, but I'm not crazy about any of them. Not real sure I like the color of the dress either...gray just doesn't seem right for some reason. But I do like Shirley Temple. I enjoyed her childhood movies. She was so cute and precocious. I don't have a favorite...I'd have to go back and see them again to remember them now. She was a lovely lady as well.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen a Shirley Temple movie, so no answers for that. But, as usual I choose the same shoes as you!
