Another weekend is behind us and it was very quiet. I did some work in the den (Joe's office) and am getting a little done here and there. I gave some things away, put some things aside for Joey (he took the printers and I found information for them), and am shifting furniture a bit and shuffling office supplies and sewing supplies.
Last week, I snapped a picture of Southside Cleaners because a man was changing the sign that I post now and then. They change it every couple of weeks. This is the first time I saw it being changed. Then, on Friday, I snapped a picture of the finished sign...
In preparation for Jim, Elaine, and Bella getting here in a few weeks, I am shifting the cat food and water to "safe" areas for the cats, where they can be free of Bella and Bella won't be able to eat their food. I don't want to restrict Bella so only the den and my bedroom will be unavailable to her. The cats are adapting without too much stress. I think it will be fine by the time Bella arrives.
Bella thinks she is a lap dog! Bella and Elaine, last year.
After Sunday school and church yesterday, I went to the pharmacy to get a prescription. On the way home from there, my low tire pressure light came on. My tires are only five months old!! It is cold here though and that causes low pressure. I have a large air compressor and Joe showed me how to use it ages ago so I turned it on and stretched the very long hose out to the carport. I am not good with pressure gauges. I started with the tire that looked the lowest and let out more air rather than putting more in. Rather than call neighbors and beg help, I called AAA. I pay for my membership and need to take advantage of it so gave them a call. The truck and a very nice man showed up in 45 minutes. He used my compressor but had to put his end on it because mine isn't working. At least it was faulty equipment and not entirely my fumbling. He said I could get a new one at Harbor Freight so will put that on my list of things to do. Anyway... all four tires were low and he seemed to think it was just the cold weather. I will find out on my way to work this morning, I guess. Fingers crossed. It will be cold (for us) all week.
I did laundry after all of that, moved a few more things around in the den, and then put myself in the recliner and watched more Chateau DIY. Back to work today. It is a busier week ahead. I am having lunch with my friend, Shirley on Tuesday, I have my small group Tuesday night (and I'm doing dessert), Thursday is dinner out with Mas Verde folks, and I'm having dinner out with my boss and Mrs. Boss on Friday. Saturday is a potluck at the clubhouse. All fun!
That happened to me the other morning too (tire pressure). Scared the living daylights out of me as all these lights were going off. I safely made it back home. It has been minus whatever in temps here, so yeah, that was the culprit, sigh.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day friend. smiles
You're so good at taking care of yourself! Well done. Living way out in the country, we have a compressor in the carport too. Our air chuck (nozzle) wore out recently and we bought a new one at Harbor Freight. Steve said these things happen.
ReplyDeleteIt's frosty again this morning. Winter has finally arrived.
Blessings. xx
Lots of eating out for you this week, Terri - what fun! Glad you belong to AAA and that their representative could help you with the tires. Ours go "flat" too when we get a sudden dip in cold weather, but it's always good to check them out, especially since you rely on your car so much.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I'm glad you got your tires checked and aired up. That's a good feeling and it sure is COLD this morning...looks like ice outside on the grass! Have a good week...I know you will!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing great - - little by little shifting things to your new normal. It still hurts my heart for you but very thankful you and Joe had such a great relationship. That was truly a gift.
ReplyDeleteGood for you trying to work on the tires - - - but it is such an aggravation when things don't work like they should!
Love Southside Cleaners' new saying! I know it's being a sissy, but I have a pathological fear of airing my car's tires. Thank goodness for roadside assistance!
ReplyDeleteI love when companies take the time to change signs out. Always fun to see what they will put up.
ReplyDeleteAll 4 of my tires were low last week. We have been well below zero for several days. The nice 'kids' at the place where I get my oil changed and any mechanical work done will do my tires for me if I just pull up by one of the bays. Every once in a while, I surprise them with donuts because they are so good to me there. xo Diana
You should absolutely call AAA. That is what they are for...
ReplyDeleteI just love Bella, but then you know I would.
I also love the sign...so true!
I need to checkout the show you keep talking about. I think I missed the post initially about it. What network or programming service is it on?
I started with Escape to the Chateau. 7 seasons! Now I am watching Chateau DIY with the same two people... Duck and Angela. Both shows are on Peacock (free app).
DeleteDick, not Duck!!
DeleteJust wondering if your friends are going to be staying with you this time, or do they have a place to stay? Either way, I know you are looking forward to them being there and I am sure you will have lots of good times together. glad your tires are ok. Seems like that's a problem for everyone lately, so it must be weather related. Good thing to know! It's been a chilly day here, starting out at 26 degrees! I guess old man winter finally found us! LOL. Hope you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThey are staying here with me, Pam, for three weeks. I'm looking forward to lots of fun and a few adventures. Just wish I didn't have to work! My tires are find today (knock wood!)!
DeleteSounds like a fun week coming up.... hope we get off our cold snap soon... brrr.. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend and our tires do the same thing in the cold sometimes. It also sounds like you are going to have a really fun week too.
ReplyDeleteWe've been having issues with tire pressure in the cold too. Good to use your AAA to take care of it.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to watch those signs and that's a good one.
Sounds like you have lots to look forward to this week!!
ReplyDeleteYou always sound so busy Terri but also having fun. I'm glad you got your tyres sorted out.
