Tuesday 4
Music Music Music!
Welcome friends! Good to see you back for another Tuesday 4 where we keep Toni Taddeo's weekly blog post alive. I hope you are enjoying them. This week let's talk about music and entertainment, shall we?
1. What kind of music do you like the best? Quieter music.
2. Does the radio play in your car and if so what station or kind of music plays? I have SiriusXM in the car and either have The Bridge on, or Siriusly Sinatra. Does music play in your home often? Rarely but if I do put it on, I use the Sirius app on the TV with the same stations.
3. What do you think of the music played in restaurants or stores? Do you find it relaxing or annoying? I don't notice it much anymore but remember finding it annoying most of the time. Of course, I rarely go shopping in a store - other than a grocery. Restaurants are many times way too loud with their music.
4. What part has music played in your life? In school, I was in chorus and band so it was an important and very fun part of my younger years. What kind of music was played at your wedding or at parties you have been to? There was no music at our small wedding and the reception was at our house so no dancing. I haven't been to a party with music in many years unless it was very quiet background music.
I used to listen to music in the car when I commuted to work for 45 minutes one way every day. I would listen to the JoyFM station out of the Tampa/St. Pete area. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But now that I don't go anywhere much we rarely turn the car radio on. I rather prefer the quiet. I don't like loud music in stores or restaurants and sometimes it is quite annoying. It seems the older I get, the less I like to hear background music. But I love to sing and love singing our church hymns and with the choir. That's about all the music I get anymore.
ReplyDeleteSince I only have like a 5 min. drive to work, its usually the Classic Rock station. I do like peace and quiet, only it's been a little too peaceful since Liam passed away. Just keeping it real, smiles. That kid (well, he wasn't a kid, but you get what I am saying) could turn a bad day upside down with his smile alone.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day friend.
My question is...do you HAVE a tambourine? Can you dance and play it at the same time? heehee! Fun questions!
ReplyDelete#3 ~ Yes!! Why do "they" turn up the music SO LOUD!? Occasionally, I've had to ask a restaurant to turn it down a bit or I leave. And some music is so annoying I wonder what kind of people actually go out of their way to listen to it?! Ugh. Background music is so unnecessary anyway. I wish that fad would die out.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers.
Blessings. xx
Oh Terri, I adore your cute avatars! I was coming up blank on #4 but had totally forgotten about h.s. chorus. Good times!
ReplyDeleteI love the Bridge!! My mom turned me onto that music - it is normally sooo relaxing and definitely "sing along" music! Have a great week Terri! HUGS
ReplyDeleteTerri: I have to giggle, I listen to music you might call spa music, soft and calming, SiriusXM channel 53 and sometimes if I want a lift 311 its called Yacht Rock music that was easy to listen too, like Bread, The Moody Blues etc, then a bit of news Fox 114
ReplyDeleteWe sometimes listen to SiriusXM radio in the home while reading or cleaning.
I despise music in a restaurant people have to talk loud just to hear each other, I miss the good old days, if someone wanted to listen to music there was a box at each table along the wall and in booths.
We had a Polka band loved it even the young people had fun, no children at our wedding, we did not want people to have to baby sit others children, that happens often.
Have a beautiful day.
Catherine
Oh, I forgot about school choir...that was fun!
ReplyDeleteI listen to Seriously Sinatra in the house often!
ReplyDeleteMusic is very important to me so it disturbs me when this marvelous gift from our Creator is abused with bad lyrics and suggestions.
ReplyDeleteI listen to rado 88.3fm (Orlando) in my car and via Internet at home much of the time. I also listen to the Easy Listening music station on my TV.
I've got many playlists on my computer that I put together years ago for different genres and moods. It's very satisfying to me.
Love listening to some good ol' country music while we play our nightly rounds of backgammon, but I don't find music "out and about" to be very settling, Terri. I guess the older I get, the more I truly appreciate quiet.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I enjoyed your answers. Much different than mine but I always enjoy what makes other people tick.
