Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 375
1. Are you currently making plans of any kind? What kind? What emotions are associated with the planning process? Tell us about one plan you had to cancel due to the current situation which shall remain nameless. Ha! We are not making plans of any kind but do hope we are able to travel north later this summer or early fall to meet with family for a reception and celebration of life for Joe's brother. We canceled plans for a 35th anniversary trip to Nashville. We were just in the talking stages anyway but have just put it off until who knows when.
2. Last time you saw stars, either literally or figuratively? I haven't lifted my head up to see stars in forever. We are rarely out when it's dark and there are lights everywhere making seeing stars even harder.
3. Blueberries yay or nay? Blueberry pie, blueberry muffins, blueberry yogurt, blueberries by the handful...what's your pleasure? I love blueberries but they are not Joe's favorite so we rarely have them. I can eat them any of the ways mentioned and am happy to have them to myself when I do get blueberries.
4. Swim against the tide, swimming upstream, in the swim, sink or swim, makes your head swim...choose one of the 'swim' idioms listed and tell us how/why you relate? I am 'in the swim' with my knee healing so well and being allowed to go in the pool now; the state of our country right now 'makes my head swim' and that's all I'll say about that!
5. Sum up your June in a single sentence. Ah, June, we hardly recognized you.
6. Insert your own random thought here. It was good to get our hair cut yesterday. We needed to go to Sam's Club after and stopped in to see Helen on the way there. We spent 30-45 minutes there and then got gasoline at Sam's before going on to the store... until we saw a line of nearly 40 people outside, in the heat, waiting to get in. Nope. Nope. We don't need anything that badly. Not doing it. I thought the lines there were over but guess not. Sigh.
Thanks for your visit today!
Wishing us all a good July!
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

There are still lines here to get into stores too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
A neighbor across the street brought me a bag of blueberries that she had just picked. We will either make ice cream or boil with sugar to use on pancakes. The lines at Costco and Sams are still around the bldg., and like you I dont need anything that bad to stand in those lines. Enjoy your Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI love blueberries, too, Terri, and love to bake them in muffins - so good! And certainly, no line is worth standing in when it's hotter than hot outside, that's for sure. Glad that you are able to get out and about, though, and that your knee is getting better every day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I go for my second haircut since reopening next week. IF the king doesn't shut us down, again, there is chatter of that happening.
ReplyDeleteI love blueberries. Joe seems alot like my husband, he can take them or leave them, wink.
I hope you have a beautiful day, frien. smiles
I agree...no way I’d wait out in-the heat for that! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGlad your knee is healing well. I haven't had my hair cut just out BUT I did color my hair last week..I DID IT a little darker than what I wanted but I DID IT. My hairdresser had been to Myrtle Beach and I am a little skeptical about making an appointment just yet.
ReplyDeleteUgh on those long lines! We've not a lot of discretionary dollars-and-cents, but I've chosen to avoid Wal Mart lately in favor of smaller markets. Making plans for a trip - no matter the reason - sounds so good; I'll be interested in knowing if you bring your own bedlinens when staying at hotels. (Saw that on the Today show a few weeks ago and wondered if that's becoming a 'thing.')
ReplyDeleteYou live in a more populated area than me, I guess. We had no trouble getting into our Sam's Club earlier this week. Times are just different now, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteWe went today on the way home from the farm (Joe's client) and walked right in. We just hit it at a bad time yesterday, I guess.
DeleteI'm sorry you had to put your anniversary trip off. I'm glad ours was last year...I would have been heartbroken! I can't believe people are standing in line to get in your Sam's Club. They haven't done that here since the earliest days of the stay-at-home order. We've just been walking right in.
ReplyDeleteLines for Sam's Club - to get in - and only have so many people at a time?
ReplyDeleteWell it is hard to make any plans these days.
I love blueberries and they are so good for you.
Glad you are swimming with the knee!

So glad your knee is doing so well. I'm sorry about your cancelled trip. Hopefully we'll get used to a new sort of normal and can move into doing some ordinary activities. Still very cautious here. Moving forward with wedding plans because life cannot remain on hold forever.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a good July, too. Hope your knee heals well. Cancelled trips here, too. Happy 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteI don't count days but I am glad to see June go. Hoping July is a little less eventful. I am not sure. We still have the Presidential conventions to go. We are not planning any big trips. Even our Auburn trips will be just to our house. No stadium seats for us this year even if they have a season.
ReplyDeleteAND oh yes, a haircut feels wonderful!
I'm with you, no line waiting for me too, it would have to be life or death. o)) So glad your knee is doing good.I know you are so glad to have that behind you. Happy 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteNo lines for me either! I'm sure that haircut felt wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNot stars but last night Bob called me to come look into the backyard about 10pm. There were so many fireflies it looked like twinkling stars all over. So cool!
Oh, how awful to be standing in line in the heat! Glad you chose not to. I don't get out in the dark much either and, if I'm driving, I can't really be looking at the stars!!! How nice it would be to look up and see a sky full of stars. Congratulations on the 35th anniversary. The best thing is the two of you celebrating your love together and how glad you are you found each other.
