Friday Fotos....

Not sure how Friday got here so fast, but here it is!  Time to post some photos from the week, following the tradition begun by Deb at Breathing In Grace!!

I have posted the Southside Cleaners sign before.  Thought it was cute this week.

And Southside Cleaners really is a business here in Lakeland.  I usually take the picture
while stopped at this light and then crop it in.

Wednesday morning found us at the farm (Joe's client).  The cattle were all over the
pastures in the front so they were on both sides of us and in front of us going in!!

The horses all got carrots!! This is a close-up of Vanna!

And a close-up of Majesty's back-side.

The sky was huge with all the clouds and it looked like it touched the ground.

Doc and Pistol, after they got their treats.  The cattle I have been "talking" to were
in with Doc and Pistol this week.  They weren't especially interested in me this time.

The guinea hens were LOUD!

And this was my view of the pasture while sitting on the patio.

Last night, we went to dinner with our friends, Tim and Judy, who live here in Mas Verde.
We all like Miller's Ale House.  The special for Thursday was prime rib and it was delicious!
We had a great time and made a date to go out together next Thursday.

We invited Helen and Cheryl over for dinner tonight.  Joe and I are going to Sam's Club this morning and I think I will cheat and buy a couple of rotisserie chickens (for extras) and then do mashed potatoes and a veggie, with a salad. They are bringing dessert.  We took Helen to the doctor yesterday and he ordered a lot of tests, including a CT scan of her head.  She wonders why all the tests and we just told her that he is being thorough and wants a good physical. She piped up and said 'he just wants more money'!  They took blood and urine while there and will do the scan and some x-rays over the next couple of weeks.  She is doing a little better this week. The doc did change a couple of medications. Hoping he noticed one of them could be causing some of her symptoms. As her health-care surrogates, Joe and I just want to get all the bases covered.  Hoping she will just go along with the tests with our explanation of a complete physical.

Thanks for stopping by!  I wish you a good weekend ahead!
Peace  & hugs!  God bless!!

  1. Glad to know that you were able to go with Helen for her Dr. appt., and that he is being very thorough in his tests on her behalf. Praying they will find the answers and be able to alleviate her symptoms. You are very kind to be her health care surrogate and she is very blessed to have you there for her. That is an awesome responsibility, but I can tell that she chose very wisely in having you do this for her. I love your pictures from the farm. So a beautiful pastoral scene. I'm so glad to know that such places still exist in south central Florida. There was a time that it all looked like that, but then Disney came in. Oh well..."progress" (not!). I like the sign at the cleaners. Yes, parenthood can be dangerous, especially in this day and time. Things just aren't so simple anymore. Kind of glad I don't have any little grandchildren coming up into this turbulent world. But then again, if God were to bless us with a grandchild I'd be very thrilled. Not likely to happen, but it's a pleasant thought. Okay, enough of that. Have a blessed and beautiful day my friend!

  2. Wow that was some good looking beef! Can't believe the prices at the store. I guess you never have to worry that they might charge your car?

  3. The pictures at the farm are beutiful as ever and I know you enjoy the animals and they certainly enjoy seeing you visit. Glad the doctor did a good physical exam on Helen - she is blessed to have you as her health care friend. Glad you enjoy the meal out with other friends and it must be good if you are going back! Have a good Friday and weekend ahead.

  4. The Southside Cleaners signs are so clever and entertaining, Terri, and your farm photos are especially stunning with all those clouds in the sky. Glad to know Helen got to the doctor, and that you all are looking out for her so closely. Keeping her in my prayers!
    Blessings!

  8. That sign at the dry cleaners -- so true!

As for Helen, I really do hope, along with you, that her recent problems are medication-dosage issues and nothing more.

Have a good weekend. Oh, speaking of chicken for dinner, I'm planning to cook a whole chicken in my Instant Pot this evening. (my first time to do that)

  10. Beautiful clouds! I'm chuckling over Helen's comment, "He just wants more $." Yep, I've said that to myself before; but really, we're so blessed to have these diagnostics available. Praying for good results! I remember when you pointed out the Southside Cleaner's sign. Good times ... wow, 2 years already.

  12. It is hard to take care of others for sure.
Hey I don't know much about farms and cattle - but it looks like a very nice farm to me. The cattle were pretty (?).

  13. I had to chuckle at the comment..."He just wants more money." I hear that a lot:) from Mom.
I love the cattle pictures and the picture of town because that reminds me of what central Florida really looks like or how I remember it before big box stores came in and lots of suburbs.

  14. The photos of the farm always surprise me. It doesn't look like my vision of Florida. The drive in with the cows makes me think more of Texas! I love seeing all those cows and that blue sky.
I like the Parenthood sign - made me laugh.
Glad the Dr is checking into Helen's health thoroughly and I hope the med changes help.

    1. Mari, Florida is 2nd only to Texas (I think) in cattle. There are ranches all through the central areas. Cattle and sugar cane and still some phosphate mining.
