On Holiday
Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4...
1. Will you be traveling this summer at all? No, I don't usually travel in the summer.
2. Will there be day trips in store for you? visits to the beach, evenings out? I am always up for a day-trip, and my walking buddies are, too. We get out and about now and then, sometimes spur-of-the-moment.
3. Do you eat out more in summer... do you go for ice cream or treats more? It is always summer in Florida! I don't know if I eat out or have treats more or less during the summer months. It's about the same all year long
4. What is your favorite place to visit, and what is the most exotic place you've been to? My favorite "place" corresponds with where my family is. The most exotic is probably right here in Florida! I have been to the Bahamas, but was not impressed. Florida has it all, right here in my own backyard. Come for a visit and let me show you!!
For the beauty of the earth
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies.
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise.
Verse 1 --Folliott S. Pierpoint, 1864
You are right - Florida has it all and good weather to go with it!
ReplyDeleteI love that you and your walking buddies are always up for adventure.
I am more about day trips than going on vacations. We tend to eat out more during the summer and I would say Florida is pretty exotic! One day I will visit!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do more day trips with like-minded friends! Those gals I'm closest too always busy. Summer temps have definitely put a damper on my appetite; we do little more than graze from the refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteI think summer heat is tough to go around in - I am much happier in the fall. Florida does have a lot of great places to eat at. And things to do. I guess you get used to the heat.
ReplyDeleteThe heat has begun here in Montreal and it is quite humid and oppressive. We are said to reach temperatures of 40 Celsius, which converts to 104 Fahrenheit! I have to be very careful in this weather so I either stay home or if I do venture out I made sure to drink plenty of water (I do this even when I am indoors anyway), and make sure I do not stay out in it for long. As well, I use sunscreen and sunglasses to protect my eyes and skin.
ReplyDeleteI was watching something on the news the other night and they were showing some weather going right toward Lakeland. I saw it on the map they showed. I am glad you are ok. I love Florida, we have been down 2 times, but it has been years...probably 20 years. Karl retires in a few years, maybe we can go on vacation then. Have a nice week!

Hi Terri, I enjoy 3 day getaways and day trips and I'm not interested in going to any country that hates Americans or the USA. When my son was in the navy, on liberty they were told not to wear their uniforms. That's not like it used to and is sad. It's expensive these days - one has to learn to be content and enjoy what they have around them!
ReplyDeleteI do prefer our cooler months to travel though.
No more long trips for us, Terri, but we are content to stay put here at home and let the family come to us. Did someone say 'ice cream'? LOL!
ReplyDeleteDay trips are fun. I've lived in Alabama all of my life and there are so many things right here in my own state that I haven't seen. I should go see these places!
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed to live where you do, and it definitely looks like a beautiful area! Yeah, if we do travel, we prefer to travel in the fall when it's not so hot. Unless we could travel to some place considerably cooler and stay there for a while! That would be nice! LOL. I'm glad you've found some nice walking buddies who also like to do little day trips, etc. That is really nice, and would be a lot of fun! But right now, enjoying life inside the AC house is pretty nice too. LOL. Take care and God bless you always.
ReplyDeleteYou do live in a beautiful place!
