Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 641
2. Pancakes...are you a fan? Syrup or no syrup? Plain, blueberries, chocolate chips, bananas, or some other add-in? Are pancakes on your menu this week? Pancakes are not on my menu this week. I do like pancakes and have them with lots of butter and sugar-free syrup. Plain are good and so are pancakes with blueberries or strawberries. I am not a fan of bananas, and chocolate chips don't go with pancakes on my plate. I have put a soft-cooked egg on top of pancakes, though!
3. Tell us about a time recently when you felt 'spread too thin'. Gosh, it's been a long time since I felt that way. I'm retired, I love my family and friends, enjoy company, and my life is good and not usually rushed.
4. What's your favorite jewel or gemstone? Emeralds, rubies, and I don't have any of those! LOL In terms of your wardrobe, would we find more gem tones, pastels, black-and-white, or primary colors? Gemstone colors are my favorite colors, but you will find all of those colors mentioned in my closet.
5. What responsibility do you think is hardest about being in charge? Finding the right balance for projects and allowing your team to have ownership. I am happy being in control and doing things myself. Just let me do it. Not a good way to lead and teach. I am only in charge of myself now (and maybe the cats), but I do have trouble asking for help. Always a work in progress.
6. Insert your own random thought here. Not really random, but I spoke with my sister last evening, and she told me that Kelly's initial phone interview went well. They are still culling through candidates and told her it will be a week or so for the next round of in-person interviews. My sister and I both thank those who offered prayers for her. Please keep her on your prayer lists!! Kelly is a brilliant graphic designer and has done billboards and bus wraps for advertising, as well as creating content for websites, pamphlets, etc. This is a worldwide company, based in Columbus, Ohio, and would be a perfect placement for her. Thanks!!

Now see here, Terri, I love chocolate chips in my pancakes, lol. Wishing you a beautiful day my friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteThe Old Rugged Cross is one of my favorite hymns. Glad the interview went well and will add the next round to my prayers too. I have an independent streak too but asking for help is something I'm working on. Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeletePraying for Kelly to get the job, if indeed it is God's will for her to have it. If not, He always opens another "window". No chocolate chips in my pancakes either. I prefer blueberries in mine when they are fresh. Not on the menu this week, however, as far as I know at the moment. Our Methodist church does have an Ash Wednesday service tonight. This is the first church we've been in that does that, and it is a meaningful way to begin this season of Lent. I don't give up anything either, but I do look for the ways that I can draw closer to the Lord and perhaps make some positive changes in my life during this season as we prepare our hearts for remembering Christ's sacrifice for our souls and His triumphant Resurrection from the dead...which we do remember always, but I do love the Easter season.
ReplyDelete"So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown."
Amen.
Good news on the interview! Will keep praying.
ReplyDeleteWe sometimes put a soft cooked fried egg on french toast, never did it on a pancake, but I bet that's good too!
Good news for Kelly! The Lent season is only known from the two Catholic families in my neighborhood growing up. I do like french toast and syrup for a treat!
ReplyDeletePraying for Kelly! This does sound like a perfect opportunity for someone so talented in graphic design. Yes, I love pancakes, especially with fresh blueberries, but we don't have them too often. And yes, we observe Lent here, too. Have a great day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of the pancakes that you mentioned and retired life. I am all for slowing down. I am glad Kelly's interview went well. Good luck to her with the next round.
ReplyDeletePrayers continuing for Kelly's dream job!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of putting a soft-cooked egg atop pancakes, but now I want to try that.
Like you, I've always resisted asking for help. Come to think of it, each of my last 15 yearly evaluations made mention of that.
Ha ha pancakes have to have chocolate Terri! I would never have thought of putting an egg on them, although when we visited my son we had pancakes, bacon, maple syrup and scrambled eggs. I also laughed at your "maybe" I'm in charge of the cats - I doubt it lol.
ReplyDeleteI pray that Kelly finds a wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteI do like pancakes with maple syrup and a little butter. I don't have them often, though.
I love pancakes, with lots of butter and sprinkled with sugar. I forgot about shrove Tuesday until my sister reminded me and by then it was Ash Wednesday :) Pleased to hear Kelly is still in the running - offering prayers up.
ReplyDeleteI just said another prayer for your niece! Delegating is so hard!!
