Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 639
1. The Winter Olympics kick off on Friday, February 6th...on a scale of 1-10, how excited are you? 6 ish (1= eh and 10=watching every event all day, every day). What's your favorite Winter Olympic sporting event? Figure skating, ice dancing, hockey, and some skiing.
2. In other sporting news, the Super Bowl (American football's championship game) will be played on Sunday, February 8th. So tell us...what's your superpower? Sitting in my recliner for hours, streaming TV shows. Gosh, I don't know. I am not super at anything. Jill of all trades, master of none!
3. Are you a romantic? No. Never have been.
4. Blue cheese-yay or nay? Yay, but in small doses. How about feta? The same. If you said yes to one or both, what's a dish you like that calls for one of these? I've only had them on salads.
5. What's more important: doing what you love or loving what you do? Aren't they about the same? They are both important.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I haven't mentioned that I started walking with my walking neighbor buddies on Monday. It had been nearly three weeks for me, with my travels and then getting over the cold. We all bundled up against the below-freezing temps and got our steps in. My cold is 98% gone. I still cough now and then and have to grab a tissue for my nose, but I'm fine. I had them in on Monday, after our walk, for cinnamon coffee cake and some nice hot coffee. It was fun, and we talked around my kitchen table until nearly 10:00!! What a blessing to be able to count these ladies as my friends!!
Also, I am having lunch with my dear friend, Shirley, today. We missed January because of my trip to Georgia and then my two-week battle with that stupid cold. Looking forward to catching up with her at Glory Days Grill.
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Oh, that cinnamon coffee cake sure sounds good, but I'll take hot tea with mine please. LOL But more than that, I like the idea of walking with friends and then coming inside for that special time around your table! That would be the best part for me! I miss doing that sort of thing. I'm so glad your cold is almost completely gone. I am battling a sinus/allergy issue, but I think it's because of the smoke in our air these past few days. It's really bad right now, and we can't even go outside and take a walk it's so bad. Praying for that rain to come down tonight that is in our forecast. May it be a long and hard rain, please Lord! Not a fan of bleu or feta cheeses. Something about the smell. LOL. And I think you are super at being a good friend! You reach out to people everywhere and make friends so easily. I think that is a super-gift. You have the gift of hospitality for sure! You are the first blogging friend I ever met in person, and that's because YOU made it happen! And you keep making it happen! I love that about you!!! Thank you for being a friend!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel a lot like you in terms of what I excel at. I'm pretty good at many things, but great? Hmmm...can't think of a thing. Glad you're able to get back to your walks. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that you are getting back on track after dealing with that nasty cold, Terri. Have a great time with Shirley today!
ReplyDeletegood job keeping up with the walking! Have a great time at lunch!
ReplyDeleteI love Just a Closer walk - and it's perfect with your walking comment.
ReplyDeleteI think you are super at being a good friend, hosting people and making them feel comfortable and loved! I always enjoy hearing about your many times of having friends and groups for dinner and holidays. That's a special gift.
I used to be a sappy romantic ... but those days are long gone. Same with any super powers I might have believed about myself. (lol)
ReplyDeleteWe love bleu cheese, and frequently dip our baked chicken wings in it, or I spread a little atop my quiche.
"Just a Closer Walk" is one of my top 3 favorite hymns.
Jill of all trades, master of none! That did make me chuckle. I think I have that superpower being able to sit and watch TV shows. hehehe
ReplyDeleteThe walk with your friends sounds lovely! Enjoy your lunch with Shirley today.
Dear Terri, it is good that you are on the mend from that cold! I have never tried blue cheese.
ReplyDeleteI do like feta, but a little amount crumbled into a salad.
As for Winter sports, I only love watching skating or figure skating. Sometimes I will watch skiing. But I find the figure skating very relaxing, which is why I enjoy it so much.
I am glad you are 98% better and you can start galivanting with your friends again.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are almost well!! Those coughs hang on sometimes!! Have a great week!!
