My Sunday included Sunday school and church followed by laundry and some cleaning. I had half of my leftover Chinese food from Saturday. Enough for two meals is always good. I had a lovely Mother's Day card and a nice gift and phone call from Jeff and Kali, and got a phone call from Joey and "I love you" from Darlene. Texts from nieces and my sisters, too! Saturday is what this post is about though! I took pictures at Mayfaire on Saturday morning...
I didn't get the artist's names (my bad) but this artist made her art from pencils.
Hundreds of pencils.
Susan and I laughed at this art. We wanted to buy the ant and see if our HOA would make us remove it from our yards. Of course, we couldn't afford it but I loved it!!
These ducks and swans were all carved from wood. Just beautiful.
The witch's shoe painting was captioned "Waiting for a House to Fall".
The flowers are beautiful!
I liked the yellow painting with the bike and the one below it.
Lots of fish...
I liked the parrot sitting in the window...
The Muscovy ducks wanted to see some of the art...
Bird eating frog...
Since we started in the middle, Susan and I caught a golf cart
shuttle from one end of the tents around to the other side...
Susan... (she had never ridden in a golf cart before!)
Swans watching from Lake Morton...
Cats, of course...
...and horses!
These flower petals are made from clay. They look so real!!
Little robots made from found items...
and she wanted $450 for the bigger ones!! Yikes!
I was intrigued by the trumpet boat with the fish at the helm. Fun metal pieces!
Scott Causey has been doing Mayfaires for years and years.
He works in ceramics. This swan was $3,500!!
The Museum has a few of his pieces in its permanent collection.
We were hot and sweaty and windblown, but it was still fun. A nice end to our morning at Mayfaire.
Peace & hugs!
Just a closer walk with Thee...

What a fabulous festival and fun to go with a friend. I love those robots the best! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSome really interesting pieces.. lots of fun,
ReplyDeleteThere are some amazing art pieces there! What a fun way to spend part of a day. Great picture of you two! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteCool beans. I love art shows...and sometimes I wonder about those artists and their pricing(s). smiles
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun! I've always loved your photos from this festival. Such creativity...and fun to see we have similar tastes. I liked the paintings you liked. I sure hope our big arts and heritage festival makes a comeback this summer. It's terribly crowded, but so much fun to walk and see the art and crafts, sample the foods, listen to great music, and even talk to the natives in the Native American encampment. I'm glad you had a nice Mother's Day, too. Have a blessed week, Terri!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love these outside events I enjoy talking to the artist and get inspired by there creativity.
ReplyDeleteTerri, thanks for "taking us" to Mayfaire via this post. The artists are all so good. I especially liked the yellow bike picture near the beginning. Now that Gary has got me riding a bike, I'm getting into bicycle art.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in the photo!
Ok, I'm weird, but, I REALLY like the yard ant and all those kooky yard decorations. Wouldn't the neighbors think I've finally lost it!? *lol* I might have to try making one myself. That is just too cool.
ReplyDeleteLooks like y'all had fun and that makes me smile too.
Blessings. xx
The two of you look wonderful, Terri! I used to love attending outdoor arts festivals like this; and yours is in the perfect setting. If I had deep pockets those horses (top painting) would be coming home with me.
ReplyDeleteLove this gorgeous...prices may be a little pricey but we get what we pay for...people complaining about paying for food and gas...prayers for Eukraine where they wish they had some...when my son moved to Florida several years ago, and when I visited, prices were horrendous compared to where I lived...just the way life is...goes and comes. Thank you for such a wonderful blog. You are to be admired...
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time! so much interesting stuff to see! Wow!! As they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Not everyone appreciates the same kind of art, and yet we can always appreciate the amount of work and talent that goes into creating each piece, no matter what we may think of the results! I'd say you had some very talented artists at this gathering. Loved the carved ducks/geese, etc. Looks like a perfect day!! So glad you and your friend could go and enjoy it all.
ReplyDeleteI always love hearing about Mayfaire! It would be so fun to go to.
ReplyDeleteThe ant is fun and so much of the art is beautiful.
Glad you had a nice Mothers Day.
I love a good art show though we rarely purchase anything. My husband always says, "they think highly of their work" when the price tag is high! I do love some of the pieces you've shown us!!
ReplyDeleteWow, so much great art!!! I love the picture of you and Susan.
