Stolen from From This Side of the Pond
1. Where do you get your news these days? I read the local paper every day, mainly for the comics.
2. Do you like crab meat? What makes you crabby? I do like crab meat. Not enough sleep makes me crabby.
3. Does
freedom mean more choices? Have you ever felt there were too many choices?
Elaborate. I don't think freedom means more choices, and yes, we probably do have too many choices these days. Take TV, for instance. Who needs 200 channels and 98 streaming channels? Just sayin'...
4. Barbara Millicent Roberts was introduced to the world on March 9,
1959...that's Barbie to most of us. Did you have Barbies as a kid, or did you
let your own children play with Barbies? What well-known Barbara (living or
not) would you most like to meet? Yes, I had a couple of Barbies. Barbara Bush would have been interesting to meet and talk with.
5. What are three things you value most in another person? Honesty, integrity, trust.
6. How would you define “old.” At what age is a person old? Old is a state of mind. The older I get, that old age thing get higher and higher! I'm not old at 70.
7. A place you’ve been that’s “old.” Tell us something about your visit
there. Venice, Italy. Loved it.
8. Something you miss about the “good old days.” When were they? Walter Cronkite. 1950-60s.
9. In what way are you a 'chip off the old block'? Or if you'd rather, in what
way is your child a 'chip off the old block'? I take after my dad, more than my mom. Fair, tall, arthritis,...
10. Old fashioned, Old Testament, old-timer, same old same old, old glory, good
old boy, old wives tale...choose an 'old' phrase that relates to something in
your life or the wider world currently and explain. Same old, same old. My days are pretty much the same now as they have been over the last months.
11. July 5th is National Hawaii Day...have you ever been to Hawaii? Any desire
to visit or make a return trip? Pineapple, mango, or guava...what's your pleasure? I have never been to Hawaii. I have never wanted to go to Hawaii. Of those three fruits, I'll take the pineapple.
12. Last time you were 'thrown in at the deep end? Explain. Oh gosh, it's been too long ago to recall.
13. Sun, sea, sand, salt...your favorite when it comes to summer? An air-conditioned home.
14. Bury your head in the sand, the sands of time, draw a line in the sand,
pound sand, shifting sands...pick one and tell us how the phrase currently
relates to your life in some way. The sands of time keep blowing by. Time is going much too fast.
15. On a scale of 1-10 (1 = make your own rules and 10=like a warden), how
strict were your parents? If you're a parent where on the scale do you
land? Mine were at an 8. I still had a 10:00 curfew when I was a senior in high school. I'm a step-parent but the boys were 16 and 20 so they were well on their way without my interference.

I enjoyed your answers.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday my friend!
Blessings. xx
Walter Cronkite was the gold standard, wasn't he?
ReplyDeleteI used to pity those who were 'old' but no. They were/are the Real Deal. You're right, it's all a state of mind. My knees may make unpleasant noises in church and my hips ache ... but I've never been happier.
Giggling over the ac thought...although I do agree, but I also think the salty air and the Tradewinds of the ocean would be nice, grin. Yeah, ol' Arthur is giving me an issue lately too...sigh...all went downhill after say 52, LOLOL. Love you Terri-hope you have a beautiful day my friend.
ReplyDeleteYour answers are great, Terri! And I have to agree that "old" is simply a state of mind, although those occasional aches and pains do remind us that we are not as young as we used to be.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I love the ocean
ReplyDeleteI have so many little ocean parks here that have shade trees so can be protected…
Always a breeze here also…makes it comfortable…my go to place…love your blog.
I could never live in Florida if not at the ocean…the heat gives me headaches horribly…always has…I say again that I have been astonished how expensive Florida is compared to so many places I have lived…noticed this on 2017 when I came four times to visit son…he has an I law suite floor for me…i mentioned it at the time…amazing how many of us seniors live here on fixed incomes…
Terri, you are most definitely are not old at 70, nor am I at 72. The 70s are, however, younger than they used to be!!
ReplyDeleteBarbara Bush: her funeral was probably the most beautiful and gospel-packed memorial service I have ever seen. I enjoyed it so much. She planned it well in advance and did a fantastic job of it.
70 is the new 50, only better. We are through with menopause even though we may still have some hot flashes now and then. AC is our best friend and a good fan is a necessity of life. My parents were pretty strict and I'm glad. They finally said I could stay out til midnight when I was in college and still living at home. I met John and he brought be home at 10 on our first date and my mother was afraid we didn't like each other. LOL. But HE said he had to pick up his little brother at a dance. At first I didn't believe him, but once I got to know him, I knew it was true. Always conscientious even at age 20. I enjoy a morning or evening walking on the beach, but can't take the hot sun anymore. I enjoyed your answers. So happy we are friends from Florida.
ReplyDeleteI like old - old houses, old people, old things. They all have charm and personality!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week. Sometimes I have to take a break from news. The breaks seem to get longer but I do reada d try to keep up. I dont have cable but I have some streaming channels and of course the internet. I dont believe all I hear though , so much contradictions between sources.
ReplyDeleteI had a young at heart luncheon today . I guess I am young at heart.Life is good
