Friday Fotos...

Nothing too exciting (ho-hum) but I do have a few new pictures to share...

New rules from the Mas Verde management.
No garden flags in the yards or beds.
I put mine on the railing, under the carport.
So far, so good.

My dear friend and Canadian neighbor Jill, who sold their house,
wanted me to have her Welcome Duck.  I'm thinking it will need
to be brightened up a bit - new paint, at least.  She is a cutie!

The empty lot across the street from my house is getting
a new house.  They started preparing the lot yesterday.
It will be fun to watch them put one together, but I'm not
liking the dirt and noise right now.
I'm sure the neighbors over there hear worse noise than I do!

I got home from work on Monday and my hose was laying in
the carport.  The plastic holder had cracked from the heat and was toast.
I ordered a metal one to replace the plastic one.
Excuse the finger, upper left.

I put my more patriotic wreath on the door for
Memorial Day month.

I visited Helen on Monday.  She looked bad and didn't seem
to feel good.  She started something new... spelling words for me.
She said something about fiddling and said F I D D L E, then said
something else and tried to spell it W W W... something.
Makes me so sad.  She is in a wheelchair now, all the time.

I was excited to see FIVE horse trailers at my work on Monday.
I would love to do a trail ride with the riders who come.
Makes my heart happy.  I love horses!

Happy weekend!

Peace & hugs!
Our God is so good!!

  2. I have an almost identical goose or duck. Oh those 80s and the craft shows. I miss that.
Poor Helen. It is not the most pleasant thing to think of ...us getting like that. You are a treasure to see about her.

  3. That duck is adorable! Hey, this horse lover's up for a trail ride. My joints would hate me for days after, but it would be worth it.

  4. No garden flags? Why on earth not? I wouldn't survive long with an HOA to answer to...too much of a rebel, I guess. I had a friend who makes beautiful quilts and liked to air them on the line behind her house. HOA said "Nope." I don't get it. It wasn't in the front yard and it wasn't her husband's tighty whities or anything. A trail ride sounds like so much fun! I don't think I've been on one since my early 20's. :( Happy Friday!

  7. So sorry about Helen. My MIL is going downhill fast. She talks in circles now. It's like someone scrambled her brain. It's breakin' my heart.
I'm glad we don't have an HOA in the country.
Love the wreath and the flag. Very nice.
    Love & Blessings. xx

  8. I guess the "rules" of the HOA are the tradeoff for not having lots of yard to mow and property maintenance, etc. , but I'm afraid I'm not a very good HOA type of person. My yard is my "sanctuary". But I know for you it is a blessing not to have the burden of yard care, etc. I am sorry to see Helen going downhill so rapidly. It is very hard to watch this happen to those we love and care about. I am glad she is apparently in a good place and they do seem to take good care of her. That is a blessing. Oh, a trail ride!! How wonderful! Would love to do that if I could, but I can't, so I won't. LOL. I remember the last time I rode a horse for a little trail ride, and it took me a week to recover...LOL. I must not have been sitting just right in my saddle or something...it was a painful experience. So will just enjoy watching others. I love the duck welcome sign and the frog welcome flag. I hope they let you keep him. Oh, new neighbors! How exciting! That will be fun to watch! Actually, we are anticipating the same thing across the street from our house soon. They've been over there measuring and preparing the ground all week long, so I think it's getting close. I hope I can take some pictures when it happens. I hope you can too! New neighbors for you!! Yay! Here in our neighborhood we are never too sure of what we'll get. It's not a 55+ community, so no telling what or who will come. I just pray they are nice and peaceful kind of people. I am praying. Have a pleasant and beautiful weekend.

  9. HOA here in condo complex makes sure that all looks good…I don’t mind it but then I am a rule follower and I just don’t complain..my home I owned was in a subdivision with HOA and I was thankful…keeps property values up and a neat nice neighborhood…little things are not important anyway…love your blog and love how you are pragmatic about issues…

  10. Sad you can't put your flag out, but I suppose it keeps some people from overdoing and making things look junky.
Sad to see Helen decline like this.
Hope the new neighbors are sweet as your old one - and can be new friends!

  11. Will be interesting to see the progress of that house. Cute duck. Sorry to hear about Helen. It must be hard visiting her and seeing her like that.

  12. I made the mistake of living in a place with an HOA - never again! I do love that duck, Terri, but am so sad to see Helen in such decline. I know it's so hard on you; I do hope her niece is still paying her visits.
    Blessings!

  13. Your patriotic wreath is very pretty. The yellow flowers make it cheerful.
