Friday Fotos...

Friday is here again!!  My company arrives this afternoon and I think I am ready for her.  I won't be doing the usual Saturday and Sunday memes but will have a weekend recap on Monday.  Here are a few new photos from my week...

My boss and his wife gave me this Blood Lily (or Hurricane Lily) and we all laughed because it sure looks like a coronavirus lily!!  I am not a plant person but it is outside by the carport and will hopefully be okay pretty much caring for itself.  When the flower dies down, the leaves come - so I'm told.  It is pretty!

My car was dirtier than my house, so it got a cleaning,
inside and out, at Mister Carwash.
(Too bad I can't just take a hose to my house!)

Looks a lot nicer now!!  I won't be ashamed
to take Lois out and about in it.

I stopped by to see Helen yesterday on my way home from work and before grocery shopping.  She looked a little better but was just talking nonsense, as usual.  I did feel sad when two different nurses told me that I am good to visit regularly.  Most patients don't get visitors very often.  That might explain why two or three patients usually come into Helen's room when I am there (or stop at the table in the dining room) and want to talk or have me acknowledge them.  I usually feel bad that I only go once a week and don't stay longer than 20 or 30 minutes.  God bless them all.  Helen's neighbor is my age and is in memory care. So very, very sad.

Peace & hugs!
God's love is steadfast
and unchanging!! Count on it!

  2. The car looks good even on the outside. I tend to detail my own. They did a nice job.
Poor Helen but she is so blessed to have someone like you to care about her. Steve checks on his Mom every week and tries to call her almost every day. Her memory is pretty much gone too. Baptist Village is taking excellent care of her.
    Have a great weekend!
    Love & Blessings. xx

  3. Gosh, that plant sure does look like a Corona virus! Sweet gesture, but I'm glad it's outside. Your car looks so spiffy; I seriously need to give mine some TLC.
Have great fun with your company. We'll miss you!

  4. You are a special angel to go visit Helen every week. Those places are often sad for the reasons you said.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  5. As I've said before, Terri, you are such a blessing to Helen. It breaks my heart to know that so many elderly people are ignored by family, living their last days in loneliness. Really makes me miss my mother.
That flower does look like the corona virus, that's for sure. Better keep it outside so you won't "catch" it!
Blessings, and have a wonderful weekend!

  6. LOL on the "Corona Virus Lily". That's too funny. I don't think I'd want to look at it either, even though it is pretty in its own way. Very unique flower! Your car looks great! It's so hard keep up with ours as our driveway is dirt and we drive on a lot of dirt roads around here. Plus we don't have a carport, so we park it under the tree and the birds love to poop on it. But the shade sure helps keep it cooler. So it's a trade off. LOL. I'm so glad you are able to visit Helen once a week. I know it is a blessing to her even if she doesn't act like she really knows what's going on. And I understand about her "neighbors" enjoying your visit too. We used to walk around the big day room/dining room when we'd visit Nanny and chat with everyone sitting there, at least those who were responsive. We looked forward to seeing them and they always were happy to see us. Sometimes I think we should go back and visit again, but I don't think to many of the same ones are still there. It's been too long and they wouldn't know us now, except for Nanny's roommate Cathy. She's still there and we keep in touch with her on Facebook. She's younger than I am and is in good mental health, but is partially paralyzed and can't go home to live alone. She sure was a wonderful roommate for Nanny, however. Oh my, how I ramble on. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your friend this weekend. We will look forward to hearing all about it later. Just have fun.
