Monday's Weekend Recap...

We spent another not too exciting weekend.  Friday took both Joe and me to the clinic for fasting labs.  We see our primary doctor next week.  After they took our blood, we went out to breakfast which was great!  Joe saw his cardiologist Friday afternoon for the ECHO results he had last week.  His new heart valve (one-year-old) is working great.  That was good news!

Saturday was my laundry day.  I put chicken thighs in the crockpot, using a new recipe I had saved on Pinterest. It was very good and Joe even commented on how good it was!  HERE is the recipe for Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs made in the crockpot.  I served it with rice and corn (I wanted to serve broccoli but didn't have any when I dug through the freezer). Joe prefers corn to anything green, so he was happy!

Sunday took us to church and we are back to full-service.  The entire praise team was back on stage and we had 110 folks in attendance!!  There was Sunday school, nursery, and kids' church.  It was also communion Sunday. We met dear friends, Helen and Cheryl, at Burger 21 for lunch.  If you have a Burger 21 and haven't tried it yet, don't miss it. They have delicious burgers (chicken & salads, too).

One of my blogger friends here answered an October question about what were you doing this time last year.  I looked back in my Google Photos and found out that this weekend, a year ago, we were visiting our son and DIL up in Brunswick, GA.  Joey was getting ready to leave for Qatar/Kuwait.  We had a great time (always do) with them and are so happy that Joey gets home this year, October 28th!  I pulled a few pictures from our visit last year...  A reminder that they have a horse sanctuary up there, and also have goats, minis, and donkeys.

On our way up to Brunswick, we stopped in Ocala to have lunch and a visit with Barb and Tom.  Many of you are also blogging friends with Barb, at Sweet Tea and Sandals. Lovely people!!

Joey and Joe with one of the goats.

Darlene with goats.

They have a beautiful space for the eight big horses too...

That's it for now!  I appreciate your visit today!!

Peace & hugs!  God bless!

  7. Hi Terri! You certainly had a busy weekend. Churches here are not back 100%. I have been away on a blogging break and have now returned. It is good to be back. I'm your newest follower! ♥

  10. 110 worshippers? That's so great! I counted but 26 in attendance here yesterday. Tom's favorite part of the chicken is the thighs, so this is definitely going in my on-line recipe box. Thanks for sharing that link!

  11. I can hardly believe that Joe's valve replacement and Joey's leaving are already a year ago!!! How wonderful that he will soon be returning!

Wow, that would be great to have a whole praise team again. I'm just glad to be inside playing a real piano again. This week I added violin to one song. Our new pastor plays violin. But we can't figure out how Dick will play bass guitar again, since he's the one that videos the service now with his iPad. We gotta train somebody else.

    That chicken recipe sounds great!

  12. Good memories from last year!
Thanks for the recipe. I know Bob would like it. I think Bob and Joe are a lot alike. He also preferes corn to anything green. :)

  13. Your chicken thighs sound good. I may have to check that one out. So happy your church is back to full activities. We are still social distanced and masked, etc. Not sure when we will be able to open up fully, but we are thankful for what we have. Went to the Ladies' Bible Study today and that was wonderful. Love that you visit so many of our friends. Tom and Barbara are special people!! We need to have a big get together of the Florida bloggers one of these days. One year ago we had gone up to NC for our family reunion and to have a Celebration of Life for my oldest brother Russell and celebrate the 75th birthday of my brother Clifford. It was a special weekend. Have a wonderful week!!

    1. Pam, we are still sitting every-other row and most are wearing masks. We are encouraged to leave at least one seat between family groups, etc. We aren't passing the collection baskets... they are at the doors as people leave and so far we are ahead of budget so folks are doing it that way or online. So far, people are using good sense.

  14. Well look at that! You put Beloved and me into your blog post! I was just thinking about that visit the other day.... great minds think alike, right!! It's hard to believe it's been a year since that visit, and yet, with all that's happened in just the last 8 months, that visit seems even longer ago than that!!!

Have a blessed day and I'll see you on the Hodgepodge tomorrow!
