Thank you, Joyce, for another fun Hodgepodge! Y'all can join in right HERE!
Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 392
1. Boo, boo-hoo, make a boo-boo, boo(ze)...pick one and tell us how it relates to life lately. Probably boo-hoo. My new knees feel great but that pain-in-the-butt (literally) spinal stenosis has been taking my joy lately. I'll go several days without it bothering me, then all of a sudden I can barely get through my shower without that horrid pain... so boo-hoo, I'm whining again.
2. Do you like the color orange? Yes. Would we find this color in your home? My living room curtains are 'paprika' color which is kind of orange. Your wardrobe? I don't have bright orange in my closet right now, but a deeper peach might qualify and I do have a shirt of that color. Peach-pumpkin-tangeringe...your favorite shade of the three listed? Probably peach.
3. October 28th is National Chocolate Day. What's the last chocolate something you tasted? A mini-Snickers bar. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being out of this world delicious, how would you rate it? Probably a 6.
4. Life is like a box of chocolates or so says Forrest Gump's mama. Would you agree? I sure can't disagree! Aside from the pandemic fallout tell us one way this saying has played out in your life. You never know what you are going to get... true for every job I ever took. True for every new recipe I've tried. It applies to almost everything, I think. Life is a crap-shoot, no matter how careful and organized you might think you are... you never really know what you will get until you take that first bite!
5. As October winds down tell us three things you loved about the month we're bidding adieu. Our church opened up fully again (still being careful); more friends are back in the community (snowbirds coming back); Joe had a good report from his cardiologist. His year-old heart valve is working well!
6. Insert your own random thought here. Not so random... I just feel so blessed.
Thanks for your visit today!
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

That's great news about Joe's heart valve.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
Glad Joe had a good report from his cardiologist!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your spinal stenosis. Praying it gets better!
I enjoyed your answers.
Have a good Wednesday my friend.
Good news about Joe! And yes, I'll take any kind of chocolate any day of the week. Guess I'll indulge today in honor of the holiday. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Terri!
I'm not a big chocolate eater, makes me kind of sick, except for a small piece of dark chocolate now and then. I guess I'm kind of allergic to it, which is so sad. I can eat chocolate ice cream however, just prefer to mix it with vanilla! LOL. Anyway, so sorry to hear you are suffering with spinal stenosis. That is no fun. Praying you can get some relief from that. Does humid/rainy weather make it worse? Just wondering. So happy Joe is doing so well. That is truly a blessing. And yes, in life we never do know what we will get, but we can't let that keep us from trying. Sometimes we just have to take that "giant leap of faith" and trust God for the results. He always sees us through one way or the other...sometimes not exactly like we thought, but always within His loving care and guidance. Have a blessed day my friend. Don't eat too much chocolate! LOL
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Terri: I love the fact that October is almost over
ReplyDelete1 due to getting to election day and not seeing anymore campaign ads on tv.
2We are one more month closer to the (hopefully) end to the craziness of the COVID mess.
3 We are almost to Thanksgiving, I love the smell of the turkey cooking, the dressing gravy and all the fixin's that go with the turkey, plus having family to dinner is my most precious gift.
I hope you are all well and having great weather.
Catherine
Terri: I am so happy your husband had a great report, Mike is at the Cardiologist as I write this comment.

I love orange and ever shade of it and yes, there is some around our home. Gotta have some chocolate! It's good to know Joe is doing well. Have a nice Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your answers. So sorry you are having pain though.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Joe is doing well, but I'm sorry about your back. I like the color paprika, kind of a red-orange. My throw pillows are more that shade. Take care and don't overdo things...do you get any pt for your back?
ReplyDeleteYes, I got some PT for it and also had the chiropractor put me in traction. It all helped so that it doesn't hurt daily like before but when it does hit, it hurts. I might need to get some shots in it.
DeleteOrange is definitely my favorite color. I have it in my home and in my wardrobe and outside - until everything freezes. Boohoo!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so great about Joe's heart valve, but I'm so sorry about your back. I've been taking Voltaren for close to 20 years. I probably could not function without it.
I'm usually 'meh' about chocolate ... unless someone breaks out a bag of Reese's. :) So sorry to hear about your stenosis acting out. Instead of my usual topical pain reliever, I recently tried the new Voltaren -- and gotta say I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteYou and Jean recommended Voltaren so I just ordered some. Thanks!
DeleteI think the highlight here is the good report from Joe's doctor! And probably the low point is the spinal stenosis. What a bummer! I have a few of those structural issues too, and I guess it's not surprising when you consider what our bodies go through. Like the old joke, "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself." I know that I wouldn't have spent my teen years chewing Juicy Fruit gum!
ReplyDeleteGlad the knees are working but why does your back have to act up?
ReplyDeleteHooray for Joe's good report!
Spinal Stenosis -- I guess that means something is getting pinched? That sounds awful. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your snowbird friends are back. I know you enjoy them so much!
I'm so sorry that you are in pain!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Joe's check up went well (I always wait to hear good news from my brother about the same thing).
ReplyDeleteThe snowbirds are most certainly happy to be back in the warm weather, I'm sure.
I hope your pain goes away!
Sorry to hear about your back pain, especially as you had knee pain for so long and dealt with that. Hope it eases soon. Good to hear Joe got a good report though.
