Hodgepodge Questions Volume 390
2. Slow as molasses, icing on the cake, that's the way the cookie crumbles, have your cake and eat it too, half-baked idea, that takes the cake...which phrase might be applied to something in your life in recent days? Explain. Pretty much slow as molasses, I guess. Pandemic times... though Florida is opening up a bit and we are being a bit more social!!
3. Something that's 'easy as pie' for you to do? Well, making a pie is not easy. I can't do pie crust to save my soul so I can't say pie is easy!! LOL Easy as a pie by Marie Callendar could explain how easy making spaghetti sauce from scratch is for me now, after all these years.
4. Are you someone who likes to 'sugarcoat' news you think might not be well received or are you more of a tell it like it is and let the chips fall where they may? Do you like to receive your news the same way you give it? I believe in telling it like it is but I also might try to find something positive to temper it with - not necessarily sugar-coating it. I do prefer to receive news in the same way. Just tell me!
5. Something you did recently that made you feel like a 'smart cookie'? I found a new rug for our living room area that does not show cat hair like our old one did. Slapping my head and saying "duh"!! We have three cats! I know the cat hair is there but no longer feel like I need to vacuum twice a day in case someone comes for a visit. It's there but you sure can't see it now!!
6. Insert your own random thought here. Speaking of visitors, our former Assistant Pastor Brian and his wife Ella came by yesterday to visit before picking up their kids from the local Christian school. Our church had to let Brian go a couple of months ago because of the budget. We just hated to see them go. Such a beautiful family of five boys and one girl... six kids! The kids are all in school now, which is right down the street from our community so it was an easy stop for them. Brian is looking for a senior pastor position. His folks are here in the area and they really want to stay here if possible. He was a senior pastor before coming to our church, where they lived in Alabama. Praying for something for them soon. They have a beautiful home that they bought thinking it would be their 'forever' home.
Thanks for your visit!!
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

So sad about the Pastor...so many churches are having a rough time now.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that so many people have lost their jobs. It's nice of them to stay in touch.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
I like someone to tell me 'like it is' but with consideration for my feelings at the same time. Sad about the Pastor and I pray he finds a position soon.
ReplyDeleteSure hope Pastor Brian can find the perfect job soon, Terri. They sound like such an incredible family! And I do like that rug you found. That's one thing I don't miss about not having pets - shedding!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
I enjoyed your answers today, we agree on #3.
ReplyDeleteHope your Pastor finds a job soon.
Have a good Wednesday my friend.
Love the rug. Keeping Pastor Brian and his family in prayer. Have a beautiful day friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE that rug! Though I'd have to get a darker color...it's not the pet hair that's the problem, it's the husband and the daughter and the grands! LOL Pancakes for supper sounds really good. Hmmm... Have a blessed day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad story and I do hope your pastor finds just the right spot soon. My hubs has a bowl of ice cream almost every night. A big bowl : ) It's not something I crave so I'm okay having it in the house. A pan of brownies would be a different story. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I will keep Pastor Brian and family in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure God has a special place for them and if they can just hold on He will show them in due time. I know the feeling they must have...as we have been there and done that too. But God always always always came through and met our every need and led us to His perfect place in His perfect time. God knows where they are and He will see them through. Now, I love that rug! What a great idea! Very pretty and I know it does make you feel better like you don't have to constantly be cleaning up hair. WE don't do desserts much unless we have company either. Hubby likes some kind of cookies and milk for his evening snack. I tend to eat a piece of peanut butter and apple butter bread for a snack, or eat an apple. I used to eat ice cream at night, but found it was causing me some tummy distress and so have had to let that go. If I eat it earlier in the day occasionally it doesn't bother me as much. But our refrigerator is not keeping the ice cream frozen enough these days so we can't keep it here long. Scott usually eats it up though.
ReplyDeleteLifting up Pastor Brian & his family to be lead where God needs him to go.
ReplyDeleteLove your new rug. I have to watch the pattern & style of rugs with our dogs too!
Laughing at your "bedtime snack" - we'd definitely call it dessert! That's sad about your Pastor and his family. I hope they find something soon.
ReplyDeleteLove that carpet ... it's just my style. (LOL) For years now Tom enjoys an Eskimo ice cream sandwich before bed, and I'll have a little bowl of unsalted peanuts. Figure that's a senior citizen 'perk.'
ReplyDeletePrayers for Pastor Brian and his sweet family!
I wish I didn't like dessert! And I like you just want it told to me straight!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice of them to stop by! Praying he finds a job close by.
ReplyDeleteI love the new rug! Bonus for hiding hair. :)
I should make pancakes for supper some time. What a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteYour new rug that hides the cat hair reminds me of our granite countertops. I'm not wild about granite because the design is so "busy" you can't tell if crumbs need to be wiped up. But then again, it looks clean when it's not and therefore I don't have to do anything. Right?
Right!!
DeleteI'm so sorry that your former pastor is having to look for a job during this hard time! I know you enjoyed the visit!
