The first weekend of October is behind us. Something tells me this month will go as fast as September. Good golly Miss Molly. We had nothing to do on Thursday or Friday (I did get our walk-in pantry cleaned out and reorganized!) but on Saturday we took Helen and Cheryl out to eat at Olive Garden to celebrate Cheryl's birthday (which is tomorrow). The waitress took our picture and it didn't come out too well but it is what it is...
We came back to our house for birthday cake. Almost got a smile from Cheryl!
Publix made the cake. Yum!
We went to church yesterday and there were over 90 in attendance! It is so great seeing the church filling up again. This coming Sunday we are back to "normal" with Sunday school, nursery, coffee in the gathering room... masks, and social distancing as needed/desired. Mandatory masks ends today here in Lakeland. Joe and I will still take care. I hope our numbers continue to go down.
Thanks for coming by!
Peace & hugs! God bless!

Looks like Cheryl enjoyed her birthday and she looks happy even if she isn't a big smiler. I am sure she appreciates you and Joe and all that you do for them. They are blessed to have you as such good friends. That cake looks good! And Helen does look very good, especially for her age! How is she doing? That is such great news about your church getting back to "normal". We aren't quite there yet here. We have started our women's UMW back up each month and also the Ladies' Bible Study each week. But no Sunday School yet. Some people are still a bit tentative about coming back, so that's okay. Our pastor still does the online service. Little by little people are trying to get back to some kind of normal. I hope you and Joe have a wonderful week. I don't know if the rain has stopped yet, but I am happy for the cooler temps. It's finally feeling like fall! Yay!
ReplyDeletePhysically she is doing okay but mentally she has some trouble. I think her hearing may not be so good so she is getting that checked next week.
DeleteWhat a special weekend you had, Terri. Glad you could celebrate Cheryl's birthday, and that your church is getting back to normal. I'm sure that's a relief for everyone!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead!
Everyone looks like they had a great time. Cake looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Happy birthday to Cheryl! That cake looks yummy. I'm glad you had a nice weekend. I hope the week ahead is equally nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat news about your numbers going down! Quite the opposite in our town, because of Penn State campus. I dread winter weather when we can no longer do things outside.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Cheryl. And yes, praying for all who seem to be dealing with this second wave of Covid. Praying it is not as deadly as the first wave.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Cheryl. I will continue wearing mine. Someone tested positive at Tucker's daycare so he is with me today. I don't think it is going away, but we have to try and do the best we can. People have to work and I am praying it doesn't flare up as badly as before. I went back to church yesterday and taught my girls. I was nervous, but I can't stay at home forever and those girls were so happy to be there yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI hope and pray our numbers continue to go down. Take care and stay safe this week! Enjoy this cool rainy weather too! Hugs!
ReplyDeletethat cake!! Happy Birthday Cheryl!
ReplyDelete& 92??? Helen has it GOING ON!!!!
Happy birthday Cheryl - the cake looked so good.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for our church to open!
Beautiful cake. Happy Birthday to Cheryl! Praying for our President and his family also.
ReplyDeleteYep. There it is ... a SMILE! Happy Birthday, Cheryl! Like you, I hope I look nearly as good as Helen does at 92. Since your governor's announcement lots of eyes are on Florida. Glad to hear you and Joe are still being prudent!
ReplyDeleteOoh, Olive Garden! One of my favorite restaurants. Gary and I went there a couple weeks ago, and I got the soup, salad, and breadsticks. I enjoyed 2 bowls of that chicken gnocchi soup! That cakes looks mighty yummy. A very happy birthday to your sweet friend. Yes, indeed, prayers for our dear President Trump. I am sickened by the fact that so many celebrities are wishing he would die. What a disgusting thing to say about anyone!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a nice time out. The cake looks so good!
ReplyDeleteWe're praying for the president and family too.
That cake -- sure looks good!
