I have had such a good time with my friends this week. It's hard to believe their two weeks here are just about over. They leave on Sunday morning, and I will surely miss them. Here are some of the things we got into this week...
On Monday (the 2nd), we went to the Circle B Bar Reserve for a little hike through the scrub, looking for wildlife. We saw birds and one alligator during our walk. I like to take pictures of the sky through tree branches, so there are a few of those here, too.
On Tuesday, the 3rd, we drove up into the Green Swamp area to visit an old fashioned General Store called Richloam General Store. What a fun journey back in time!! If only the prices were the same!! Elaine and I both bought things, though!
From there, we drove to the Colt Creek State Park. I drive by it every time I travel up to Ocala and on into Georgia, but I never stop to explore. It costs $4.00 per car. We saw one of the lakes and saw a gator lying on the bank. The screened-in pavilion was very nice to rent for events, and we also got to use the very clean restrooms. Richloam had a porta-potty outside that we decided to avoid!
On Wednesday, we worked a little more in the shed. Jim got on the ladder, and I handed him things I wanted to store in the loft. I still have some organizing to do and some cleaning, but I can handle it now. What a blessing to have that done!!
He also helped me with the Catio (cat patio) that I have been wanting to secure for my boys. It is still a project in progress. I have a couple more things to work on, but they are enjoying some "outside" time each day now! I can let them out through the kitchen window or through the back door. The area is completely screened in. I got the plastic crates to give them "steps" in and out of the kitchen window. They are catching on...
Last night, our dinner group went to J.Burns Pizza. There were seven of us, and the pizza was very good! I intended to take a picture, but totally forgot. This one is from the internet...
I'm not sure what we are doing today, but we are planning dinner at Glory Days. They have a Friday fish fry dinner that is very good.
Thanks for getting this far! I wish you all a lovely weekend!! Don't forget to turn the clocks ahead. I hate this time change. Grrrrr...

I forgot about the clocks, geesh. Wishing you a lovely day and thanks for the laughter over the alligator signs, like, why would I want to bother a gator? lol
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have such good friends that came to stay with you and that actually gave you some help with projects. Those are the best kind of friends. Your place will be lonesome for a bit when they leave, I'm sure. Loved all the pictures. Hugs- Diana
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've had such a good time with Elaine and Jim. Looks like you saw some fun things and it's so nice you got things done too.
ReplyDeleteI really dislike the time change!
Your photos are absolutely fabulous, Terri! I felt like I was right there with you all and having the time of my life. Thanks for sharing your wonderful week with Elaine and Jim with us. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful outings you have had with your friends, Terri! Thank you for sharing your pictures. Glad you had some help with sorting, purging, and organizing your shed as well as help with the catio! I am not a fan of this time change (I prefer standard time), but I wish they would pick one or the other and leave the time alone. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat pleasant days, Mother Nature afforded y'all! Yes, that General Store would've sucked me right inside. I wasn't really sure what a Catio is, so thank you for these illustrations. Your boys are sure blessed. (And we wouldn't want it any other way!)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have had your friends visiting for two weeks! It sounds like you have really made the most of your time together! That looks like a great place for a hike, apart from the alligator. Eek! That is such a cute general store! The Catio sound like such a great idea for your boys.
ReplyDeleteTime sure flies when you're having fun! Great pictures Terri! It's been fun having Elaine walk with us and seeing Bella on our walk too! I know you will miss them.
ReplyDeleteOh, you have been having a good time! I see you are getting plenty of alligator sightings! One is plenty for me. I love the "catio" idea for your kitties. I bet they appreciate it too. But now, do you have to leave the window open for them to come and go, or do you just open it when you want them to go out, etc.? I wonder if you could put a pet door in your door to go in and out? Just a thought. I know I wouldn't want to leave any window open in the heat or the cold. I'm sure you have a plan. I'm just wondering about the logistics and how it all works. I am sorry Elaine and Jim are leaving so soon, but then I know you have some more wonderful company coming soon too. And then we can see you/them as well! That will be fun! Blessings for all and prayers for their travels back home.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that you and Elaine have known each other practically all of your lives and you are able to visit and have such good times together after all these years. Looks like an excellent visit in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing week you've had. It's so lovely to have friends visit and to go exploring with. And sad when they leave. I enjoyed your photos - and i'm wondering if the great white egret is what we call a kotuku. I'll have to check
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the pictures! I'm so glad y'all have had a great time together.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! I love the nature walk--cypress trees are amazing to me. The catio is awesome!
ReplyDeleteOkay your cats might be a little spoiled - but that is okay with me.
ReplyDeleteI am fascinated and scared to death of alligators at the same time.
You are having a great time - you look very good Terri.
Sounds like you've had a great visit with your friends - your house will feel quiet after they've gone.
ReplyDeleteHello! You are just the happiest person, my friend. I am always smiling during my visits with you! Thanks for sharing all the photos of your adventures.
