My friends left yesterday morning, around 6:30. The house feels empty, as it always does when company leaves after a fun visit. The cats are thrilled to have Bella gone. LOL Casper ran through the house and got toys out of his toy box. I could almost hear him shouting, "The dog is gone! The dog is gone!" Bella is so laid back and not aggressive at all. She was raised with two felines, so cats are no big deal to her. Vinny was pretty chill.
Our last few days were fun. We finally got out to Fancy Farms for strawberries and strawberry milkshakes. It's just something we have to do when they visit! It is still strawberry season here in Central Florida. Blueberry season is coming!
On Saturday evening, we went out for Italian at Il Forno. We didn't get pictures of the food, but Elaine had chicken parm, Jim had veal parm, and I had fettuccini Alfredo with broccoli. It was all delicious and was a nice evening out before they started packing the car, getting ready for their escape (wink). Bella was a little anxious that they might leave without her. You could almost hear her sigh of relief when she got into the car. I can tell you that Elaine was in touch as they headed north, and they made it safely to Chattanooga for the first of their two-day trip home to Illinois. They should make it home today.
I went to church yesterday. It was communion Sunday, and we had our monthly potluck after services. I took my rice, chicken, and broccoli casserole. It was all gone when I left. I had to pop into Publix for a prescription, and I needed milk and a few other things. I can't just pick up a prescription, which is what Publix counts on, I'm sure. When I got home, I started doing laundry. Had a little more than my usual two loads, but got it done.
There is some cleaning to do. I haven't done a thing in two weeks, but I need to spiff it up for my next guests, who are arriving Sunday afternoon. I am so excited that blogging friend, Mari, is coming down with her hubby for a few days!! Lots more fun ahead!
Thanks for checking in today! Wishing everyone a blessed week ahead!!

Glad you had a nice time with your friends and there are more on the way. We had an Italian dinner out this weekend too and it was good. Have a great week Terri!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a little rest this week. It's a lot of hosting in a short time. :)
ReplyDeleteBut we are so excited to be coming!
I am excited, too, and no worries!!
DeleteMari!!! We're both going to Florida but not at the same time! I'm so eager to hear all about it!!
DeleteI know you enjoyed your time with your friends, Terri. How fun that you will have another batch of company soon! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThe visit looks like a great time! The dog you are holding looks like the two we had when the kids were growing up--Brittany Spaniels.
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteAww! It sounds like Casper is very happy that Bella has gone, that did make me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for strawberry season, I bought some on Friday with my grocery order and they were tiny and not very good at all. Hmmf.
It sounds like a lovely weekend. Have a great week!
We're always on the look out for strawberries from Florida this time of year, Terri, and thanks for the heads up regarding blueberry season, too. So glad to know that Elaine, Jim and Bella got off to safe travels home and that all of you had a delightful time together, too.
ReplyDeleteThat was so cute about Casper running around after Bella left. She is such a great dog. Those are nice pictures you got and hope they made it home safely!
ReplyDeleteYou had a great time. Rest. More good times coming!
ReplyDeleteYou made me chuckle. I read aloud to Gary the first paragraph about how your cats felt about Bella being gone. Animals are so fun!
ReplyDeleteWe look forward to seeing you, Mari, and Bob next week!
How I dislike "good-byes"! I'm so glad Elaine's keeping in touch along the way. Suppose there's any likelihood they'll become permanent residents someday?
ReplyDeleteBella and the boys sure make for entertaining reading!
Oh, I know how quiet the house seems after dear guests have left. I am so glad you had such a nice visit, and am also glad they are making their way home safely thus far, and we will pray them the rest of the way safely too. I'm sure the Kitties are happy to reclaim their space, but it sounds like Bella was a very good house-guest. Take a little rest sometime this week between guests. But I know the next couple will be extra special too, and I am also looking forward to meeting them! Meanwhile, relax. Blackie sends his love to you and your 'boys".
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have such a long life friend who still comes to visit regularly. I know you love it too. I can picture the kitties. I kept my son's dogs overnight this past weekend and I think Gus was ready to have the house to himself again as well.
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine your cats talking to each other about the fact that the dog was gone!!
ReplyDeleteMari is coming to your house!!! If only our Florida vacations would have overlapped!!
ReplyDeleteYour description of the cats rejoicing that the dog left was hilarious!!
