I have stumbled through this week, and it's Friday already! I posted about my lunch with Wendy and Suzette. That was on Tuesday. I got my hair cut (short!) on Wednesday. The curls are back! Yesterday, I had an appointment with my podiatrist. The foot she did surgery on a year ago in January has been hurting, so I thought I should have her take a look.
The X-ray showed no fractures, which I was worried about, but lots of arthritis. She gave me some therapy things I can do myself and told me to use Voltarin arthritis cream on it to help with the pain. She also told me to make sure my walking shoes are sturdy and that the sole of the shoe should really not be too flexible. She demonstrated with my sandals, and I should definitely not be walking very far in them!
Yesterday, I got a good idea about meals for next week (with guests coming) and made a grocery list. I usually don't plan ahead like that, but it feels good to have at least a flexible plan in mind. Who knew! LOL I also got the guest room bed made up with everything clean and tidy. Saturday, I will do a last dusting, vacuuming, and mopping. It hasn't been done in three weeks, so there will be cat hair equal to a whole cat in the vacuum bag, I'm sure. I usually keep up with the cleaning each week, but I was having too much fun with Elaine and Jim to worry about it.
Earlier this week, I did get into the shed and got it organized a bit. I can now walk in without moving things to get what I need. When the draught is over, I will be able to get to the controller for the sprinkler system and turn it on again. Yay! I took a picture...
I also got the steps for the catio (just a screened breezeway between my back door and the shed) and put them out there for Vinny and Casper. Vinny is ignoring them, but Casper figured it out...
It doesn't look like much, but Elaine and Jim helped with the shed, and Jim helped install and secure the crates, so I can just open the kitchen window to give the cats a little "outside" space. The steps just came this week. The cats are enjoying time out there each morning, without my close supervision.
Thanks for your visit today! Watch my blog next week for new adventures with Mari and Bob!!

Oh, your shed looks so nice and neat! That's something I can only dream about! We did have ours looking pretty nice, but then I needed to find the spring decorations, and other things, etc., and things had to be moved to get to this and that, and so there you go! We just have too much stuff! Your little catio is cute. I hope the cats appreciate what you've done for them! And I know Mari and Bob will appreciate what you're doing for them! I know they will be happy to be out of the cold weather for a while, even though next week is supposed to be cooler down here too...but probably not as cold as where they're coming from! See you soon!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your little "catio", Terri! Your shed looks so tidy and organized, too. I'm glad there wasn't anything more serious regarding your foot. Let us know if the Voltarin works for you. Have fun with Mari and Bob!
ReplyDeletePlease don't work too hard on our account - we'll be just fine! And if you need help with stuff while we are there, you just put us to work!
ReplyDeleteThe shed looks so nice and organized! Doesn't it feel good to have that done?
Have fun vacuuming-my least favorite job...nope...least favorite is unloading the dishwasher...ok--it's a toss up. Glad your shed is coming along and it actually looks pretty darned good. I have to work in my basement again. Hubby went down there and moved all sorts of crap around. I hate when he messes up my organization. sigh.... Have a wonderful Friday the 13th. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteNice to have a week in between visit! The shed is looking very good! I could use a shed of my own (Bill doesn't believe in organization!).
ReplyDeleteI think your shed looks beautifully organized. You sure did get a lot done and ready for your company. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have had a busy week. So sorry your foot has been hurting, that's good there are no fractures. I hope the cream and therapy things help.
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful you have more guests coming. Good job with getting into the shed and the Catio looks fab!
I know it feels good to put order to the shed. I am so glad you were able to get that help. The cat steps look great. Hopefully, Vinnie will figure it out too.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder about shoes...in fact, I spend too much time pondering them:)
It seems to me that maybe the oxfords and loafers I wore growing up were way better than the shoes I wear today. With all my feet issues I have switched to a more flatter approach with a larger toe box rather than all the cushiony ones. It seems to help me the most. I still haven't had my toe surgery. I am procrastinating now for certain.
I never really gave much thought to my footwear ... but those commercials for the "Good Feet Store" sound more and more credible. Voltaren has been my BF for some time now; also, my friend's hubby swears by Veterintary (horse) liniment gel for his shoulder.
ReplyDeleteDear Terri, I absolutely love ❤️ your catio.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that there is nothing broke in your foot, but sorry to hear about the arthritis! I sure hope the cream and exercises help. You ware me out reading all you do and did! I hope you enjoy your second batch of guests! I know they will be treated well!!
ReplyDeleteYour shed looks great!! I think the cats will enjoy their new catio!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your foot is ok but arthritis is no fun. Hope the cream and exercises help. Your shed looks very organised and I'm sure the cats must love the extra space.
