March 27th: Friday Focus

As always, Friday got here fast.  I only have a few photos to share...

One morning this past week, we were doing our morning walk and the fog was hiding the sun.  Susan and I both stopped to take a picture.  Hers was better than mine, but you can see why we had to stop.

I posted about Jim and Elaine helping me sort the shed and get it reorganized when they were here.  Joe had a big and very heavy air compressor that I never used.  I tried a few times to put air in my tires, but I let out more than I got put in.  I listed it for sale on FB Marketplace and it sold the next day for my asking price.  I'm so glad it has gone to someone who can really use it, and I ordered a much smaller one that I can carry in the car.  It also will charge a computer or phone if needed.  And, I had money to spare.  So win-win!

My friend and former co-worker, Gregory, had to go into the hospital on Wednesday.  Another co-worker who has a key to his house picked up Colby, so I can dog-sit while Gregory is in the hospital.  He thinks he will get to go home today.  Colby is a Shih Tzu and is very spoiled.

He and my cats do not get along.  I had to break up two fights between Colby and Vinny.  So the two cats are living in the craft room, where they have everything they need (except me).  They are doing fine.  I did sit with them for an hour or so yesterday.  Colby is my shadow.  I can't move without him following me.  He also watches the door all the time, missing his dad.  He is comfortable here because Gregory always brings him when he visits.  I call myself Gregory's Lakeland mom.  He is like family and is younger than my sons by six or seven years.  Gregory's dad is a retired pastor, and when they retired, they moved to the mountains in North Carolina.  I've met them several times.  Sweet people.

The Mas Verde group went to a new restaurant last night.  Lakeland Diner opened a few weeks ago.  They have Greek menu items, and we all enjoyed dinner from the Greek side.  I brought half of mine home to enjoy again today.  Tzatziki sauce is a favorite of mine.  Love that stuff!!

My dental appointment this week went well.  No new work to be done, thank goodness!  Cleaned and polished and out the door!

I need to go to Publix today and also get some cleaning done.  I have dinner guests coming tomorrow evening.  I'm making chicken enchiladas and will have taco makings, too.  Tres Leches cake for dessert (from Publix bakery).  Yum.

This coming week, I have an eye appointment and a hair appointment.  My church has a Good Friday service.  I'm a greeter for Easter Sunday and have folks coming for Easter dinner at 2:00.  Looking forward to it!!

Happy weekend!
Peace and Hugs!

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

  1. You are a good soul to take care of Gregory's Colby while he is in the hospital. He sounds like a wonderful lad and 'almost family'. Too bad about Colby and the kitties though. I'm sure they are a bit miffed. Great picture of the sun thru the morning fog. I always loved Florida mornings.
Have a wonderful weekend- xo Diana

  2. How nice you are able to help with the pet care. I love the foggy photo. Tzatziki is a favorite of mine too, and my daughter and I both had some in the bowls we had this week. Have a nice weekend Terri!

  3. The fog photo makes everything look mystical and magical, Terri - love it! Colby is a cute house guest to have. My daughter's family always bring their Shih Tzu, Finn, when they visit with us. We always enjoy having that sweet little guy around. So sorry that your two boys don't like him, though. Happy (almost) Easter!

  5. What a beautiful morning!
That is great you could sell the air compressor. It is a win/win situation, you get a little money and it goes to someone who needs it.
Eek! I hope the dog sitting is going well and your cats are coping OK.
Have a great dinner with your friends.

  6. The fog photo is gorgeous! I showed it to Bob and he said "Hey, we know that place!" :)
I'm so glad the air compressor sold, one thing off your list!
Sorry that Gregory is in the hospital, hope he gets out today!

  7. Wow(!!!) on that sunrise peeking through the fog. A moment in time.
What a cutie, that Colby! I'm so glad your 'bonus son' chose you to watch his fur-kid. I do hope your boys won't hold this against you for too long.
Your chicken enchiladas sound so good; I've never tried a Tres Leches cake before. Maybe that needs to go on the list.
    Peace and Hugs!

  10. I Love the fog photo! That is frameable, if you ask me! Put it in your London Fog bathroom...wasn't that the color you used to paint it? seems like I remember that. Colby is a cutie! I'm sorry the cats don't like him, but it's good you have a nice place for them in the meantime. They'll get over it, I'm sure, and Colby looks quite happy to be with you, his "Lakeland Grandma". LOL. I hope Gregory will be doing fine and able to come home soon. Oh, Chicken Enchiladas sound good. We have a church pot luck this Sunday...that would be a good dish to take, but I don't know if I'd have time before church to make it, so I plan to make a meatloaf. It's less work and less room for failure on my part. LOL. Besides, when I make chicken enchiladas, I like to be able to eat them too, and if I take them to church to a potluck, they may be gone before I get to them in line! LOL.
Yes, it's hard to believe Easter is next Sunday. And this Sunday is Palm Sunday. It's kind of snuck up on me... I haven't really done much decorating for Easter yet, except for my Tomb and Cross like yours. The bunnies and baskets, etc. will have to wait until later.
Take care my friend, and have a blessed Holy Week.

  11. My goodness girl you do run around don't you? Nice you puppy sat - it was like having three kids that needed to be watched the whole time. I think the photo with the fog was interesting!

  13. So wonderful of you to care for Gregory's dog. It is hard to mix animals isn't it! Sounds like you have a busy week ahead! Always nice to downsize and make a little money too. A beautiful picture you took, love those early morning walks!

  14. Awww, you are so sweet to keep the pup. Male pups I have always found attach themselves to following more than females. Your picture of your neighborhood morning walk is indeed pretty. Nature always provides such beauty.

  15. I like your picture of the foggy sunrise. Colby is such a good boy and a great walker. Did his daddy ever get home from the hospital? I sure hope all goes well for him. That's great that you sold your air compressor! You are so hospitable Terri! You are always having people over! Hope all goes well!
