Monday Musings...

My word for 2025 is Mindfulness.  These past few weeks have kept me mindful of friendships and how special the people who touch my life with love, fun, and caring are to me.  Elaine and Jim, my neighbors, my family, and my newer dear friends from church and work... blessings!

On Friday, I got a phone call from Danon (my former boss at FWC) and Mali.  Their AC unit went out.  The weather temperatures have been comfortable, and windows can be opened, but Mali has some health issues that have caused her some problems because the pollen is so heavy right now.  She asked if she could come and stay with me until (tomorrow).  The new HVAC unit can be installed on Tuesday.  Of course, I said yes.

The sheets and the bathroom were clean, so the guest room and bathroom were ready for another visitor.  She had the day off from her work (she works from home), so she came right over.  Danon came after work and took us out to dinner.  He is staying at their house to take care of their four cats.

It has been fun for me.  I cooked a casserole (rice, chicken & broccoli) for us on Saturday.  Danon came here for dinner.  He took us out for dinner yesterday.  Today, he is coming after work to have casserole leftovers with us. I have enjoyed Mali being here, and so have the cats.  They can tell she is a cat person!!  It has been fun getting to know her better.

I went to Sunday school and church yesterday and got my two loads of laundry done (as usual).

Today, while Mali works remotely from my kitchen, I will be working on my tax return.  Joey (my son) sent me the organizer to fill out, so I hope to get it done and sent back to him to finish it and get it filed for me.  Blessed again, over and over.

That's all for now!

Peace and Hugs!

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

  1. Yes, the weather has been mild, but that pollen...sigh. I need to work on our taxes and just keep putting it off. Have a great day, Terri.

  2. We are seeing pollen here too. Ugh. My least favorite thing about spring. So nice you can help your friends in this way. Have a nice week Terri!

  4. Terri, you are such a sweetheart! It says a lot about you that they asked.
So now, you can each bless each other!
Hope the taxes go well. We got ours done last week. Unfortunately, I'm still having to do my Dad's for a few years, so I need to get his stuff gathered and to his accountant.

  5. I was thinking like Mari - what a great friend you are that someone can just call up and feel they can ask at the spur of a moment if they can stay with you and you said yes!
    Good luck on your taxes.

  6. What a unexpected -- but bright -- experience! I agree with those who've said, you're such a blessing to so many. Because our weather's so cool and damp, I've not seen any pollen -- but I could sure go for a big helping of your casserole. Yum!

  8. I know what you mean about good friends. I am so grateful. I know you are missing Elaine and that sweet Bella. The kitties might not though:)
Please fill out my tax organizer too. I just got through looking at it and am procrastinating.

  9. You are truly a good friend to help out Mali as you did. I hope she feels much better very soon -- and surely she will with your hospitality and good cooking!

  10. How very sweet of you to have Mali come over and stay while the AC is fixed. That is really nice for both of you! Sounds like it's worked out will with meals, etc., too. You are the best kind of friend to have! Oh, I am so happy I got our taxes done last week. I use TurboTax, and it works great for us as our taxes are pretty simple since we retired and are on a very fixed income. I love TurboTax! and the version I use is free, so that's even better! yay! Oh, yes, the pollen continues to be a problem. I don't know what I'd do if we couldn't keep our windows shut! I'd have to dust more often, that's for sure! LOL.
I hope you have a wonderful week! Hope to "chat" with you soon!!
