Monday Musings...

Another weekend is behind us.  The time change is the hard one - losing an hour.  I changed the clocks Saturday morning and lived the day as if the time had already changed.  I still didn't want to get up Sunday morning, but I made it to Sunday school and church on time.  It was pot-luck Sunday, so lunch with my church family is always wonderful.  I took pasta and meatballs.  I did my usual two loads of laundry when I got home.

On Saturday, I went to Crowder Bro's Ace Hardware (love that place!) and bought my paint.  I settled on London Fog, so London Fog it is.  I have not started painting yet.  Hoping I can hire a friend from church who used to have a painting business.  She will call me (today, I hope) soon.  I want to get the guest bathroom done before my son arrives on the 18th.  I don't mind painting but I am not comfortable being here by myself climbing up and down a ladder, so help it will be.

I am seeing my eye doctor tomorrow.  Time for some new glasses!!  I placed an order with Kroger's that will be delivered Wednesday.  It was a bigger order than usual because I actually cleaned out my spice cupboard and had to toss most of the jars and bottles because they had expired.  New ones are coming. I need to pay attention going forward.  I am having lunch with Shirley on Friday.  We are meeting at Cheddar's.

Wishing you all a blessed week ahead!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Peace and Hugs!!

And He walks with me, and He talks with me...

Just a quiet mention that March 10th was my brother's birthday and
my Grandpa's birthday.  They are celebrating in Heaven today, but I am
remembering them with so much love!!

  2. Happy Heavenly birthday to your brother and your Grandpa! what a precious picture of them together, and how sweet that they shared their birthdays! I am sure they are sharing a celebration in heaven today. (((Hugs))) to you as you remember them and those happy times together. Heaven isn't that far away, and one day we will ALL be up there celebrating!
I'm so glad you have someone to help you paint the bathroom! I do hope it can be done before your son arrives. You may have to decorate your bathroom with London decor when it is done, to go along with that London Fog! LOL. Maybe a painting of Big Ben and the London Bridge in the fog... LOL. Have a lovely day and can't wait to see you next week. Oh, which planter did you want Benton to make for you? He said he will have whichever one you want, but he may have to make it again because he keeps selling them, so make sure he knows which one you want. He'll be building stuff all week. He had a very good day Saturday at the Farm Market, and will be going again this weekend to another one. I am so happy that this is stuff that is really selling right now! Hooray! See you soon!

  3. Happy Heavenly birthday to your Granddad and brother.
I really wish the Gov would quit messing with the time. Pick one and leave it there. I've only changed a couple of clocks. Really, for the most part, except for Church or any appointments, we keep our own schedule and time anyway. No point in making my self crazy(er) changing the time on our multiple clocks. I'm such a rebel ... lol
    Blessings. 🍀

  4. Aww - that's a sweet picture of your brother and Grandpa.
The time change is a pain! I couldn't fall asleep last night cause my body thought I was in bed early... I wish they would just stop it!
I hope the paint help works out and it's done when Joey arrives.
Bob is going to the eye doctor today so he may be getting new glasses too.

  6. The spice cabinet always needs checking over here. You reminded me I really need to set up an appointment to get my eyes checked. It has been at least a year. You know I did ok with the time change yesterday, but this morning was awful. I was glad it wasn't a morning I really had to be anywhere. I was moving slow. Now, I love the longer days so I have to get this body adjusted to enjoy it all.

  7. Speaking of spices, maybe tell us in a blog post sometime how you store your spices in your kitchen. I had a good system in my previous houses, but this kitchen presents some problems. Looking for inspiration.

Hope the bathroom paint project goes well. Wondering here what color "London Fog" is? something in the gray family, perhaps?

    1. I don't have a system. The spices go in a cupboard to the right of the stove where I can grab them when needed. London Fog is gray. I will post some before and after photos.

  8. Happy birthday to your brother and grandpa. They will be celebrating there.
I think London Fog will be good - is it a light gray?
Good idea about the spice pantry - spices are expensive tho.
We are picking up an order from Walmart today. I would have it delivered - but alas, they cannot find my house on the GPS system they use! Hard to believe I know.

  9. Happy Heavenly birthdays to your special fellas! How tickled your grandfather must have been with Randy was born on the same date.
I'm a bit envious, you going forward with the painting project. I don't know that the figure we were quoted is normal, but to us, an absurd $3,400... so our front door and shutters have to be set on the back burner for now.
Spice expiration dates is something I rarely think about. Better I check!

  10. Hubs has a strict no ladder rule for me if I'm home alone. I had a little mishap on a ladder that resulted in months of healing a severely bruised rib and it was so painful I'm not even tempted to try the ladder without a spotter lol. Have a nice week!

  11. Hi Terri. I think that getting help with your painting is an excellent idea. So glad you son is coming to visit. That will be so nice. Lunch with your church family sounded great. My grandpa's birthday was also March 10 and he died on March 11 when I was about 11 or 12. I hope your week is going well.
