Thanks to Annie for today's four questions! You can join the fun HERE!
Summertime
Let's talk about what July will bring for you.
1. What are you doing for the 4th of July holiday? If you don't celebrate what plans do you have that day? I have the day off and will join friends and neighbors for a community cookout and celebration. Fireworks in my city are the night before. It's called Red White and Kaboom. I can hear them from my house and (if I walk outside) can see the higher ones over the trees. I usually watch two movies sometime around this holiday... The Patriot, and Independence Day.
2. Are you planning a holiday, getaway, or just day trips this summer? Where will you go? What will you do? No holiday getaways or day trips this summer. It's too hot and I'm working. My first trip is planned for the end of September. I'm going to Ohio for my nephew's wedding.
3. Do you like to go out for ice cream in summer or do you just eat it at home? What flavor and what brand gets your endorsement? There is usually ice cream in my freezer. I don't go out for it very often. I like butter pecan, any flavor with toffee, mint chocolate, or plain chocolate, did I mention chocolate?
4. What activities are most enjoyable for you in the summertime? travel? reading? movies? gardening? beach time? I live in central Florida. It is always summer here! Have some books chosen? No. The one I'm reading now will last a month or so. I just don't read like I used to. I'm reading a cozy mystery called "Pork Pie Pandemonium" by Steve Higgs. It's okay but doesn't have me anxious to get back to it. I really enjoyed a series of six books by David Crosby. The Will Harper Series. They were set in Florida and were fun to read. Just finished them.
I want that old, old-time religionYeah, it's good enough for me

Happy 4th of July! Sounds like you have a wonderful weekend coming up! I'm happy you have a couple of extra days off! We won't be doing anything extra this year, thanks to this bug we've been fighting. Thankfully we are feeling better, but not ready for any major activities yet. Plus I need to get busy and clean this house thoroughly and debug it! LOL. Have a wonderful week. And yes, "give me that old time religion...it's good enough for me!"
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th Terri! We are having my sister and BIL over for supper so that will be nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm not an ice cream person, but if I do have it, I like it with toffee in it too.
That old time religion is good enough for me too!
I'm a big fan of anything with chocolate in it, that's for sure! Have a wonderful Independence Day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a neighborhood party on the 4th but it went by the wayside a few years ago. Yours sounds like it will be fun!! I need to check out the David Crosby series!
ReplyDeleteChoco-holic here. LOL I even have a type of coffee that is chocolate flavored. Yum!
ReplyDeleteWe don't go anywhere when it's blazing hot outside either. I grew up in this mess. I stay in the A/C, thank you very much.
Happy 4th of July Terri. 💙
In addition to vanilla and flavors like Butter Pecan or Maple for ice cream, I enjoy sorbet. It's very fruity and pretty!
ReplyDeleteNo summer excursions here, either; but now you've planted a seed: there's a carton of Butter Pecan out there whispering my name. I just Googled David Crosby ... a little sad to learn he's not the same as one of my favorite performers (... w/ Stills and Nash). Nevertheless, the series sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteThey are one of my favorite groups too. The books are fun because I know where they are and what they talk about. You would too!!
DeleteHappy July 4th, Terri! Your community celebration sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy the week. I will be back to visit again soon!
ReplyDeleteI love butter pecan ice cream so much. I hope you have a great 4th! Loved your answers! Happy 4th of July. ♥

The neighborhood cookout sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy it. My mom always kept butter pecan in the freezer. She loved it!
ReplyDeleteI used to read a lot. For some reason I just don't anymore. Not books anyway. I read stuff on my phone or computer, but if it's too long I lose interest. I hate it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your answers. I feel like when you work, summer is like any other time of year...lol
