Wednesday's Hodgepodge...

Thanks to our hostess, Joyce, for today's Hodgepodge!!  You can join in HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 559

From this Side of the Pond

1. Do you feel older or younger than your age? Elaborate.   Younger, I think.  Now that my knees don't hurt anymore and I can walk without a cane, life is better.  My answer would probably be different if it was 10 years ago.  I will turn 73 this year.

2. What's one thing you should toss right now, but just can't?  There are things in every room of this house that need to be sorted and tossed.  I'll get to it one of these days.  The younger generation doesn't want family things anymore.  So sad.

3. Have you visited many of the 63 National Parks in the US of A? You'll find a list here. Do you have a favorite? What National Park that you haven't seen do you most want to see?  I've been to the Everglades and the Great Smokey Mountain National Park.   None of the parks are on my bucket list but I would explore if the occasion presented itself.  The Smokey Mountains are beautiful.

4. How often do you get take out? What's your favorite?  I get takeout a couple of times a month.  Chinese is probably my favorite food to order in.

5. Do you have many (or any) subscriptions? Not necessarily magazines, but thinking more along the lines of boxes or products that companies offer, and you can sign up to receive on a regular basis. Could be weekly, monthly, quarterly, even daily. Tell us about them.   I don't subscribe to any of those boxes or products.  Years ago I belonged to book clubs and movie DVDs.  I still subscribe to Reader's Digest and Mornings With Jesus (Guidepost devotional).

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I need to report about the birthday and welcome back lunch at work on Monday.  Danon is back (light duty) and Keaton's birthday was also celebrated.  Mali (Danon's wife) popped in to join us for a bit.  It was pretty easy to pull together.  Guys are easy to please for lunch.  I got deli-sliced ham and turkey, two kinds of cheese slices, sliced tomato and onion, mustard and Duke's mayo.  Potato salad, potato chips, and cupcakes for dessert.  We enjoyed talking and catching Danon up on what's been going on.  There were enough leftovers for most of them to have more on Tuesday.  I bought those Hawaiian sandwich buns and they are just so good!!  I had cards for both of the guys and put a Welcome Back banner over Danon's office door.  It was fun.

Peace and Hugs!

Blessed assurance, Jesus in mine!

  1. Your welcome back luncheon sounds nice. We like the Hawaiian rolls here too. The grands love a sandwich on one (or two) so I have them in the pantry when they're visiting. I love Chinese food but there's not a great 'to go' place for that here. Enjoy your day Terri!

  2. My brain tells me I'm younger, but sometimes my body says I'm older! :)
I've been trying to go through things and donate them. Yesterday I donated my china. It's been in a cupboard collecting dust. My daughter Heather would love it for sentimental reasons but she doesn't have room for it. It was hard to bring it away, but at the same time, I won't miss it because I never used it.
I wish we had a good chinese take out around here. I love it!
Your party sounds really nice. I'm sure those guys appreciated it, and it was nice to have Danon back.

    1. Granddaughter Lauren took my Noritake China which made me happy. Rarely saw the light of day here. Hope she uses it more than I did. The only thing I feel must be passed along is my mom's cedar chest. Niece Sara said she wants it. Everything else can go. It's all in my heart anyway!! xo

  3. So you got the welcome back and birthday luncheon taken care of!!!
So you feel younger now - good for you. Can't say I do.
I can agree with you - the younger generation wants nothing of ours. Kind of sad to me. Not sure what happened.
I like Chinese in too - we get food and bring it in a couple times a week.

  4. Sounds like Damon had a great welcome back to the office, Terri. So glad he's doing so well! Those Hawaiian rolls are great, by the way.
    Blessings!

  5. I'm so glad your knees are giving you a 'new lease on life', Terri! My mind thinks I'm 30-something, but somedays my back and hips make me want to wave a white flag.
I've seen 5 of the National Parks, but not the Great Smokeys. That's on my short list!

  6. So nice to have the welcome back party for Danon and birthday for the other. I know they appreciated it and it all sounds good! I never thought about the Great Smokey Mountains as a National Park, but I guess they are, and I've been through there many times and camped in them as a child many times So many beautiful places there. I guess I really haven't been to any other national parks. Salt Springs was in a National Forest, but I guess that's different. We don't do take out very often...well, I forgot about Domino's Pizza...we do that maybe once a month with the kids. I'm glad you don't need a cane anymore and that your knees are good! That helps a lot! Hope you have a wonderful rest of your week.
