Monday's Weekend Recap Time...

It was a nice weekend, just past!!

I was invited to dinner at Mike and Mary Ellen's house on Friday evening.  We have been friends for over 25 years.  They were part of a dinner group from my old church, Resurrection Catholic, and we three are the only ones still around town.  You might remember that they were at my house for Easter this year.  I cropped them out of the Easter photo since I didn't take any pictures Friday...

They have been spending lots of time in Pennsylvania.  It's been a tough couple of years with their parents (all in their 90s) passing away and/or needing extra care.  They left again after Easter and are just back in the last two weeks.  They are blessed to be able to "work from home" while they travel.

On Saturday, I found myself back in my old neighborhood for my former neighbor's 70th birthday party.  Bob and Ginny were our neighbors for 21 years before we moved to Mas Verde.  They have lots of family in Lakeland and close by so it's nice that they include me as part of the family.

There was lots of good food.  I made pasta salad to contribute to the feast. I don't have a picture of the birthday cake, but it was well done by Publix!

The birthday boy, Bob...

Their pool was the popular spot after everyone ate.  I stayed a couple of hours and headed home about the time they were going to FaceTime with family stationed in Hawaii.  Good people!

The friends I have who also knew Joe make my heart feel hugged.  New friends who didn't know Joe are wonderful, but those who also knew my Joe are extra special to me (that includes Mike and Mary Ellen).

This was our pool (and our cat, Onyx), and you can see Bob and Ginny's house next door (tan)...

I went to church yesterday.  Did the laundry when I got home and did little else.  Should have done some cleaning, but I didn't.  There isn't much going on this week, so I will get some cleaning done, after work, here and there!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by!!  Wishing you a blessed week ahead!

Peace and Hugs!

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

  2. All that food looks so good. I do like cold cuts. We 'noshed' on cold sandwiches last night. It's fun to do that from time-to-time.
I understand how having friends that knew Joe must be especially heartwarming. Keeps the loving memories alive because they were there too. That's so precious.
The pool looks inviting. I wanna be there too. lol
Hope your week is easy and the dust is causing havoc with the sinuses. 💙

  9. What a sweet weekend! The gift of good friends is sure precious.
Those pool areas are beautiful -- nothing like we had in Arizona -- but I'm happy not to have to maintain one any longer.
