Friday Fotos...

Friday got here fast this week.  It's been a good week.  As mentioned earlier, my boss came back to work.  He is light duty and part-time for now but it's good to have him back.  The guys are still eating the last of the food I took in for Monday's little celebration. It's good that we have a refrigerator there.  Nothing has gone to waste.

I got my hair cut on Wednesday after work.  I really like how Laura is doing my hair.  She is curly too so she understands the trials... LOL  (Sorry, no picture.)

Yesterday, I had dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse with Mary Jane, Ginny, and Ginny's hubby Bob.  We had a good time catching up.  Bob and Ginny lived next door to us in our old house for 21 of the 28 years we lived there.  Mary Jane is Ginny's sister.  Mary Jane is my cat sitter now, but Ginny and I swapped cat-sitting when we were neighbors.  They still have Bonnie and Millie.  Good people and we feel like family.  I'm invited to Bob's 70th birthday party in a couple of weeks.  This picture is from 2014 and was at our old house.  They haven't changed much!!

I popped in to see Al and Theresa, who live down the street and around the corner.  Al and I worked together at the Museum.  They moved here after we did, at our recommendation. Al's birthday is today and I wanted to drop off a card for him.  We chatted for 20 minutes or so.  They have been making improvements in their house and wanted me to see what they've done.

Al and Theresa a few years ago...

Speaking of Theresa, she is our community's rock artist and another lady rides her bike around delivering the painted rocks.  It is always fun to get a rock on your steps and I got this one earlier this week...

We have had a very rainy week.  One gully washer looked like a river in our street.  Cars left a wake behind!!  This picture doesn't show the water in the street as deep as it really was...

This evening I am meeting Wilma and Livia for dinner at Cheddar's. They are church friends and part of our small group.  Always fun with them!

That's it for today.  I wish you all a happy weekend.  No plans for me, other than being a Greeter at church on Sunday.  That is always a sweet time.

Peace and Hugs

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

  2. We sure could use some of your rain...the worst of the heat has broken, but the grass is really suffering... have a great weekend.

  3. I love the strawberry rock. Sometimes people leave painted rocks around the neighborhood. I might see if my grandsons want to paint a couple. That could be fun. Enjoy your weekend!

  4. Your friend is a "Rock Star"...the one who paints the rocks! Love that! Love that you have so many friends around and that you can pop in on them and visit and go out to eat with others. You are blessed to be surrounded by so many special people! I love seeing your street and all the houses are so neat. Are all the houses in your development white? Just wondering if that is a rule there. Our community is a manufactured community, but very old and there are no rules here...I wish there were, but it's kind of too late now. They'd have to tear down all the old trailers and start over! LOL. Oh well, for the most part they aren't too bad, but some are getting to the point where a tear down might be the best thing they could do! LOL. I'm excited there will be a new manufactured home going in next door. I just pray for good neighbors! I wish you could come pick up "Blackie". I know he'd love to come live with you...but he is an outdoor cat and I don't really think he'd be a good indoor cat. He seems to love being free to wander about and go hunting when he feels like it. Right now I think the heat is just making him lazy all day and I think he prowls at night, although he is right there asleep on the porch first thing this morning...so who knows what cats do all night? He is sweet, but he likes to try and trip me up when I try to get away...LOL. He's rather bossy. LOL. Not sure he'd get along with your laid back kitties.
I love the hymn you quoted...yes, "the Lord God made them all", even the black kitty on my porch! LOL.

    1. No, not all of the houses are white and shutters are different colors, but there are rules to follow. Management can be tough if you aren't keeping your property pristine. Our community is privately owned and you have to be "approved" to buy in here. We pay lot rent but own our homes.

  6. Catching up is fun. So glad you got to do that. Longhorn Steakhouse is one of my favorite places to eat in Brunswick. I wish we had one closer, like in Waycross.
Wonderful photos. Have a great day. 💙

  7. I love hearing all your news, albeit from a distance. Longhorn is hands down my favorite; what did you get? (I'm all the time swearing I'm going to try something different, but always end up with the salmon and broccoli.)
    Happy Birthday to Al!

PS - Love your new background!

    1. I had the renegade steak (6 oz) and shrimp, with a baked sweet potato and a salad. Yum. Mary Jane had salmon and broccoli.
