Thanks to Sam for today's questions! You can join in HERE!
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here are today's questions!
Saturday 9: Mirrors (2013)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
9) Random question: When was one of the first times when you felt like an adult? When I moved into my first apartment as a single woman. I was 29.
Saturday 9: Mirrors (2013)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) Is there a mirror in the room you're in now? Nope. None in the living room.
2) In this song, Justin Timberlake tells his lover he just can't wait till they're together. What are you eagerly looking forward to today? Having nothing on the calendar!! I do need to get some cleaning projects done.
3) Justin Timberlake is known as a sharp dresser who is always on trend. What item have you recently added to your wardrobe? A new top.
4) Justin was an accomplished child performer who appeared on the entertainment competition show Star Search when he was just 11. When Crazy Sam was 11, her only job was loading and unloading the dishwasher, for which she received an allowance from her dad. Did you have chores when you were a kid? I sure did. I am the oldest of four kids and both parents worked so I was the after-school babysitter, dinner starter, and house cleaner.
5) He says he tries never to miss breakfast, even on the road, and his favorite is peanut butter banana pancakes. Given the choice, do you prefer pancakes, french toast, or waffles? French toast for sure.
6) When they were still in their teens, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears were sweethearts. Obviously, it's been easy for him to keep up with her successes and problems over the years. Do you wonder what one of your exes is up to? My high school steady died several years ago. I have no idea where my first husband is now and don't really care.
7) In 2013, when this song was popular, Pope Benedict resigned. Thinking of your working life, have you felt greater stress on your first day at a job or your last? Definitely the first day.
8) Also in 2013, the NHL owners reached an agreement with the players union and avoided a strike. Have you ever belonged to a union? No, and don't believe they have a place in the world today,
9) Random question: When was one of the first times when you felt like an adult? When I moved into my first apartment as a single woman. I was 29.
Peace & Hugs!

In Christ Alone, my hope is found... Love that song! I enjoyed your answers. Yikes, you first felt like an adult at age 29 in your first apartment...and I've never had an apartment on my own before. I left home to be married and I did feel like an adult then as I went to work and became a wife, etc. I was only 18 but almost 19! Looking at "kids" that age now I wonder how I had the common sense that I had at that age, because kids today sure aren't all that mature at 18 or 19. #6. One of my high school steady boyfriends also passed away a couple of years ago. I was sad to hear of it, but thankful he wasn't the one I married as he had not treated his first wife very well. #4. I also had chores, even though I was the baby of the family (also of 4 kids). I still had to do the dusting, clean the bathroom (we only had 1), and do the dishes with my sister. I didn't get an allowance, except for an extra nickel with my lunch money IF I made my bed every day...then I could buy an ice cream bar after lunch with my nickel. LOL. I hope you enjoy your weekend with no special plans. We have a church breakfast this morning, so I need to get dressed and ready to go (after I finish this and my cup of tea!) Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeletePam, I was also just out of high school and had just turned 19 when I married the first time. He was controlling and not very nice. I had no opinions, had to watch what I said and it was not nice. We separated after 10 years. I was "free" for the first time at age 29. My own apartment, my own car, a job I liked, people who thought I was fun be be around (girlfriends for the first time in 10 years!), and I was just free. Thankful we didn't have kids and thankful for the two 'boys' I have now.
DeleteGood answers! Waffles are my favorite.

I'm not a big fan of unions, either...not the most popular of opinions...especially with a cousin who is the biggest pro-union man you can imagine. He and I haven't spoken since his mother passed due to his overbearing and rude opinions that he imposes on everyone while belittling opions that don't agree with his.
ReplyDeleteI am a french toast person too.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of our union insurance. We meet a $400 deductible or $800 for the family the they cover the other costs. We also only pay 20% of a prescription cost and the union covers 80%. Retirement for us will be decent too. My mom still gets my dad's teacher retirement until she dies. It is nice to not have to worry about that stuff. I am not a fan of how the teacher's union acted in the bigger cities during covid not wanting to go back to school, but that did not happen where I live. We went right back to school. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

French toast for me as well... good answers.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about unions, Terri. My former husband (a manufacturing plant manager) taught me so much when there was movement afoot and he (and counsel) had to appear before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Nasty stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy hs 'steady' and I still keep in touch on birthdays and holidays. Aside from my first husband (Troy's dad), I just hope the others are happy and healthy.
I do love waffles and pancakes, as long as neither comes with peanut butter - lol. Have a great weekend, Terri!
ReplyDeleteI first felt like an adult when I moved into a studio apartment just days after my 20th birthday. I definitely had a lot to learn at that time.
ReplyDeleteCleaning for me today too - after doing some work at my Dad's house and a surprise birthday party at 1.
ReplyDeleteFrench toast is my choice as well.
